k wanted to let anyone who wanted this card to get it quick... my rapidshare pro ran out and I am a few weeks off of being able to re-up it. So this file may be deleted and I had to reformat my pc so I don't have the original. If it does I will try to make another but I have no idea when that will happen. So if you want this reference card get it while it is still there.

DFRPG / Beserk Power Help Plz
« on: March 08, 2012, 10:03:58 PM »
I Have a player who is wanting to play a Norse Beserker. I need a power for the Rage or Beserker rage or something the like. Needs to give bonuses as well as negatives and have more to it then could be accomplished with stunts. Unfortunately I tend to get carried away designing powers. So can anyone help me... Any power ideas that would stack with str and toughness but also cost you some on perception and defense... More powerful but open to attack... maybe even some extra in there. I was thinking a 1-3 power cost sense the positives would somewhat balance the negative. Please Help...

Ok this is taken straight from YS:177
When making such a change, you may reallocate
some or all of your form points (see
above) to purchase new abilities, focusing
on those available as Creature Features
(page 162), certain Minor Abilities (page 169),
Speed (page 178), Strength (page 183), and
Toughness (page 184).

I would stick to this as close as possible with modulating abilities. In my game I made it Law. You cant access any other power group and it keeps things sane.

In the party I'm running there are 4 spellcasters. 3 Focused Practitioners and a Wizard. to Limit them from going way over the top I introduced them to a White Council Warden in the city we are playing in who's job is to deal with the new magic users that pop up. His name is Jeremia Johnson. He is a scary man who follows the white councils rules with a iron hand and steel sword. Every magic user in my party is terrified of him and with good reason. To keep my magic users from going way over the top i place the combat situations and many other things in the view of people who are in the dark and the white council is constantly listening to the mutterings of the general populace. Seeing as magic is not to be discovered this makes my magic users think twice about casting that gigantic fireball to nuke the uber ghoul with a human guise. They have to make sure to spend some of there shifts to make it seem like they didnt cast a spell. You can use in game situations to balance mage characters very easily.

OK I made these cards so my players could have there item of power on them with all its stats and only have to write the refresh cost and name on there character sheet to save space. I hope others find this useful as well.

DFRPG / Re: Milestones: What ratio of Significant to Major?
« on: November 13, 2011, 06:54:59 PM »
ur dead on with the significant ones... myself i only give majors when a main story arc is wrapped up. Usually take us between 5-15 sessions dependeding on how heavy duty the arc is and how much bsing goes on in session.

DFRPG / I need Some Advise on a Low Power Campaign
« on: November 12, 2011, 09:01:30 PM »
I'm starting a campaign where all the players are starting at 4 refresh. Pure mortals are 6. All other templates are allowed but at creation no powers may be selected, only stunts. As the game progresses powers start developing after the first major. Any must that are part of your template has to be taken before additional powers... its a little bit of a stretch from the original rules but I think it will be fun to play a group of "in the dark" mortals turning into supernatural heavy weights over time. What I need advise on is what i should use as monsters for such low refresh. At first I plan to throw them mainly against mortals or low level beastys that are veiled so no one can tell they are not human. The idea is the players will eventually begin to deal with things that can't be possible until they work their way "into the know". Anyone have any advise for me on what I should consider throwing them against. Please don't post here if you are going to tell me that the concept can't work due to rules. I am aware of that fact and my players are interested in the concept so we are going with it... I'm mainly looking for advise on how to avoid murdering characters with that low of a refresh... thanks.
