DF Spoilers / Re: Dear Jim
« on: April 20, 2018, 02:41:29 AM »
Sometimes life happens dude.

Plans getting put on hold.
Dealing with all the things life throws at you becomes like dodgeball.
Things that use to come easily are now more difficult.
Sometimes breaking even is the best case scenario - after all, you don't want to take 10 steps backwards.

I wouldn't say the fanbase is dead, just inactive. They're out doing other things. Some check back once a year. Others once every couple months. And when a new book is out, I'm sure the majority of them will find their way back to the fanbase as active members.

Lord knows the LV426 fandom held out for years!

DF Spoilers / Re: Dresden Files - could it be adapted to a video game?

I'm seriously surprised there is no fan-made/community game at this point. Someone has to have thought about this by now.

:) Maybe when it comes out, and you read it, you'll be pleasantly be surprised. :)
A few things I originally didn't want to read or watch turned into something I really loved or appreciated.

I've got a few ideas from Changes (possibly spoilerish so beware of possible small spoilers):

I actually like it when a series is NOT loyal to the source material, considering, it is my personal hobby to read books and then see the movies.  Hint Hint...just ordered Percy Jackson online. =)

I loved the hockey stick idea.  It actually took me a while to get use to the staff with carvings.
I loved ghost bob.  I saw the pilot, and I was not amused by the glowing non-moving thing.
I loved morgan.  He was a badass (pardon my french).
I loved murphy...She was just likable...

And I think it is great to 're-imagine' a series.  You get different stories, characters, etc.  It is something new, and interesting, and most of the time good in a way unique from the source material.

...I am bummed that I didn't get to see the Time Traveler's wife.  I read the book, but my Bio lab went overtime till 10pm, so I couldn't go to the free showing...
...And now I'm on a tangent....

I actually found a copy of Proven Guilty in my driveway one day, I assume one of the neighbors lost it.  I gave it a read and have been hooked ever since.  I went right out and bought the entire series.  Now I am anxiously awaiting the next book.

Wow...Best way to find out about the series -ever!

Usually my family and I find books thrown away, and sometimes read them, but usually they aren't much good.

Why would anyone in their right mind, leave such a beautiful wonderful super amazing book lying in the yard?
