Harry is a fire guy, fire has the added benefit of cleansing other magic.

However I wonder why no one has thought of modifying light spells so they are coherent, creating a laser. Now that would be an upgrade of the Blasting Rod.

if containing fire is hard - containing LIGHT?

They aren't real technical folks....  Harry likely thinks thermal blooming is a hothouse orchid....

the only prior owners of record are Etienne the Enchanter, Kemmler and Justin DuMorne. Bob came into Kemmlers possession after he was warden of Demonreach.

Interesting point - could Kemmler have taken it from a prisoner? Could one of Bob's former owners be in jail there?

I don't know if a blasting rod is necessarily fire related, or that is just what Harry uses it for to focus his cast, because fire is somewhat wild and less controllable.  A water mage might have a similar device to control a conjured stream of water, like a hose nozzle with spray, jet, mist, etc. settings.

There may not be one.  Fix was crafted a sword by Summer.  Why didn't Harry get one from Winter?  When Jim was asked, he said it's because Harry himself is a weapon while Summer isn't like that.  So just because Winter had the Black Staff doesn't mean that Summer does.  Mab got the Athame,  which is said to be very powerful, on par with a Sword from the Knights of the Cross.  Summer didn't magically get one of equal power.

Mab has a much bigger force than Summer, but as Jim said, because they are tasked with guarding the Gates, Summer is equal.  So the balance of power can be very confusing.

Yes, but is Fix's sword anything near this in power? This is from a Mother... it's not a sword with some power like, say, a warden sword - better than mundane, but not a nuke.  The athame is not OF Winter, it is something she picked up. Summer can have loot too.

Needn't be a weapon. CT's cornucopia is possible.

Assuming Macfinn had no children prior to his tryst with Tara West, her child would carry the curse. But that child would only be half human.

And this is why I don't go to church.  Dooming people for the sins of their fathers doesn't strike me as something a loving God would allow. And considering the body count in Fool Moon, that would mean millions might die over time since it was meant to go on forever, all because the Saint had a burr under his saddle. Early Black Council selling the big lie IMO.

Recall "said to be laid" ... not "was laid".... deniability there... where is the curse now? If MacFinn was killed... was it in abeyance until the child is born? A werepuppy? or does someone else act as regent of sorts,. he is the loupe until the child is old enough? A relative, maybe a brother, or a cadet line?

And I think a loup garou would qualify as supernatural - as in the guardian angels get off the roof and send it on its way. I don't think Bob's knowledge would cover angels, or a Sword. Plus - did it just say kill? Angel comes down.... "Well, I can't kill you... but..." ...suddenly the Loup Garou is looking at a sign "Welcome to Moose Jaw"

The Coins should be nigh indestructible, otherwise you'd think one or two would have gotten the One Ring treatment. Not saying it's easy, but there's been 2000+ years of people trying and 30 Coins.

Of course, destroying a Coin would probably be a bad idea unless your method could also kill the Fallen imprisoned inside. The Spear is the only thing I can think of that would do the trick. Being able to kill anything is it's special power afterall.

i think the Coins are likely indestructible, short of MASSIVE power levels (Uriel, other archangels, the Mothers level. Above even Mab). There are still 30, right? They never got caught in a fire? Most fires won't melt silver... but a lot of chimney fires will. Your stovepipes are rated well above the melting point of silver - roughly 1000K.  No Knight of the Sword, fighting them ever hit a coin with the sword? Those swords cut thru steel doors.. silver is pretty soft.

Nah. The magic of the coin protects it. A bearer could have been next to the Naag Morgan nuked. Coin might be too hot to touch for a few years after the blast, but the coin would have survived.

The Merlin could have kicked Harry out for fear of a possible schism in the White Court. What if Harry starts talking Black Court?  What will he do? They think he has the Eye. Even the blackstaff was not enough against the Eye. This is like the Darkhallow. The captain of the Wardens was laid out before she even reached the core. So was possibly the strongest hero of the Wardens, Morgan. up comes Harry, riding a T Rex. Goes on by, kicks ass. The side looks lost... the Titan lays Odin down... and Harry jails her, and takes her main gun.

Question is - the Merlin may question if even Eb can take him, now that he has the Eye. Could he look for a hitman, like Kincaid, as a black op? Only against the rules if he gets caught.... and he had a SC decree of death, even if it was suspended. Some emergency powers clause lets him activate it, if word comes out?

re: Making a sword - is Stormbringer too dark ? :) Should go well with the Blackstaff....

I would not necessarily say Harry is definitely the most qualified to make a sword - what about Klaus? He may LIKE to make toys, or made one so you did not EXPECT a weapon, but he sounds like he could make a weapon.

As far as blasting rod vs. staff - I don't think the rod is better than a staff at anything other than portability. You use both as a focus, and possibly the larger staff even focuses better (otherwise why carry the larger one?). Think of a pistol vs. a rifle. Really, with the exception of extremely close quarters (like room to room) a rifle is a far superior weapon in range, power, accuracy, capacity....  I think you carry a rod when you don't want a 5 or 6 foot stick. Though has anyone other than Harry had a rod?  I think it is more because Harry, especially early in the series, tends to be firehose like in his focus. See the ghoul outside Camp Kaboom.

Note Gruff is Summers Enforcer,  this would suggest a couple of things

(1) none of these stoles likely belonged to a Blackstaff,
(2) none of these disputes has been over the Blackstaff itself

Because the White Council still retain the Blackstaff, and Summer would have no interest in a Winter artefact.

However maybe at some point an equivalent artefact of Summer fell into the hands of the White Council and there was dispute over that, something like the Scabbard of Excalibur/Amorrachius? That is something Gruff would definitely go after.

I'm not really thinking the stoles were from duels over an artifact but.... if the Blackstaff is an artifact of Winter - to be in balance, there has to be an artifact of Summer... where is it, and what are its powers?

Here's some thoughts....

What if the low fertility rate amongst Whamps is on one side. The men. They only kick out a few hundred at a time (human normal is in the millions). So  - Thomas is not likely to have many children. Harry, presumably, would produce more.

Lara as Winter Lady, replacing Molly? Mab could be playing the long game.  What about the hypothetical daughter of Harry and Lara? Wizard genes, a strong line, and Whamp blood too? Possible hybrid vigor too - she could be very dangerous.

And, while I think this unlikely - sorry Thomas - what makes us 100% sure the baby is Thomas'? If the shadow of a Fallen Angel can make a spirit of intellect with harry... can Nemesis do anything with a woman? Parthenogenesis?

I wouldn't classify Martha Liberty as a friend. More as not generally opposed. She's a swing vote. He had her sometimes, other times not. I don't think she is "He means well, if not always doing it the right way" like Eb or LtW or Rashid, but not assuming the worst like Mai and Langtry.  She's a skeptic who will look at each case.

I don't think Luccio has an official role any more. She lost her captaincy when she lost most of her power and her old body.  We don't know who is captain now. Could be Carlos, but I think more likely a more senior Warden like Berserkergang.  Or Mai's icepop warden that we later saw with the temple dog statue

Bob, like Harry, is not an unimpeachable source. Most of the time he's near enough to absolutely correct. But even back to Fool Moon, he listed all the werewolves, but missed Tara West's type of werewolf.

Tera is not a werewolf. Werewolves are base human. Harry can't soulgaze her, IIRC - Tera is not human. She's a shapechanger, but a different species. Likely not really canis at all.
