If anyone wonders what stories I write, you can now find out!  ;D

BattleTech: Onslaught - Tales from the Clan Invasion!

From the Amazon page:

Quote
In 1990 Michael A. Stackpole's novel Lethal Heritage introduced readers to the Clans, genetically enhanced MechWarriors from beyond the Periphery who returned to the Inner Sphere to conquer the Successor States. With advanced BattleMechs and unstoppable skills, they crushed all who stood in their way — changing the BattleTech universe forever.

Now, in Onslaught: Tales of the Clan Invasion!, seven stories have been gathered from the BattleCorps fiction website to showcase this universe-altering event. Seven stories of incredible attacks from beyond known space. Seven stories of unremitting heroism in the face of defeat.

Seven stories of the onslaught of the Clans.

My story in the collection is "My Father's Sword" a story bout family and duty. Hope you take a look!

Author Craft / Self-Publishers, I need your help....
« on: July 03, 2013, 05:47:24 PM »
To make this short: I need to convice a company I do work for that they can self-publish novels for several gaming lines through E-Publishing and POD without losing their shirt in the process.

What I need from the Self-publishing authors on this board is a general idea of the expense to create an Ebook and a POD-ready book, and any problems the company might run into with both Ebooks and POD services.

Basicly, I want to show the company they can put of Ebooks at a reasonable price and not have to sink a lot of cash into the project.

Any help will be welcomed,

Craig

Author Craft / Writer beware!
« on: March 07, 2013, 02:35:19 AM »
With the explosion of e-publishing, there are people who are out to take advantage of new writers. Not all are fly-by-night operations. Here, John Scalzi discusses a contract from a new E-publishing imprint that is part of a major publisher. The terms are, to say the least, terrible:
http://whatever.scalzi.com/2013/03/06/note-to-sff-writers-random-houses-hydra-imprint-has-appallingly-bad-contract-terms/
And just to show this isn't a one-time thing: http://whatever.scalzi.com/2013/03/06/a-contract-from-alibi/

So, iof anyone goes with a pubsiher, READ THE CONTRACT. Better yet, hire a lawyer with contract experience to read it, because if these contracts are real, any writer who signs a contract like this is going to get hurt....

Author Craft / Editors and submissions -- A problem?
« on: December 02, 2011, 08:44:24 PM »
I was reading December 1st entry from this blog: http://www.deanwesleysmith.com/

This gist is that he just received a form rejection letter from an editor for a novel he pitched TWO YEARS AGO. The rest of the blog is about when he did it, and some advice on how to submit.

But two years for a rejection letter -- a form rejection letter? For an author with a proven track record? Makes me wonder if the job of an editor is becoming one smart people avoid......
