DFRPG / Beserk Power Help Plz
« on: March 08, 2012, 10:03:58 PM »
I Have a player who is wanting to play a Norse Beserker. I need a power for the Rage or Beserker rage or something the like. Needs to give bonuses as well as negatives and have more to it then could be accomplished with stunts. Unfortunately I tend to get carried away designing powers. So can anyone help me... Any power ideas that would stack with str and toughness but also cost you some on perception and defense... More powerful but open to attack... maybe even some extra in there. I was thinking a 1-3 power cost sense the positives would somewhat balance the negative. Please Help...

« on: February 23, 2012, 06:52:21 PM »
OK I made these cards so my players could have there item of power on them with all its stats and only have to write the refresh cost and name on there character sheet to save space. I hope others find this useful as well.

DFRPG / I need Some Advise on a Low Power Campaign
« on: November 12, 2011, 09:01:30 PM »
I'm starting a campaign where all the players are starting at 4 refresh. Pure mortals are 6. All other templates are allowed but at creation no powers may be selected, only stunts. As the game progresses powers start developing after the first major. Any must that are part of your template has to be taken before additional powers... its a little bit of a stretch from the original rules but I think it will be fun to play a group of "in the dark" mortals turning into supernatural heavy weights over time. What I need advise on is what i should use as monsters for such low refresh. At first I plan to throw them mainly against mortals or low level beastys that are veiled so no one can tell they are not human. The idea is the players will eventually begin to deal with things that can't be possible until they work their way "into the know". Anyone have any advise for me on what I should consider throwing them against. Please don't post here if you are going to tell me that the concept can't work due to rules. I am aware of that fact and my players are interested in the concept so we are going with it... I'm mainly looking for advise on how to avoid murdering characters with that low of a refresh... thanks.

DFRPG / Summonable and Bindable Ghost Table
« on: October 27, 2011, 04:37:00 AM »
OK so I have a Ectomancer in my Group that wanted a table for summoning random or selected ghosts. I created this table. I thought I'd share it with everyone here if anyone needed something similar. At first glance I thought the table seemed overpowered but after some play testing I found that it has worked very well... as an example the shift cost for a guarantied comp 8 random ghost is 13 shifts. 1 for random and 12 for +8 Minimum. For a selected type of ghosts is 15 shifts. 3 for selection and 12 for +8 Minimum. Then on top of that all the regular summon, contain, and bind costs for thamaturgy are added on top of it. So the lower levels are much more realistic. I added the higher in just in case. It makes itself useful as well when you need a quick and dirty random ghost or your wizard pulls a local ghost to him to ask it a few questions about the night before. That way you don't have to spend the time writing out a ghost.

Hope everyone can make use of it if it works for your games. Enjoy.

DFRPG / Ghosts and How to Stat them?
« on: September 20, 2011, 03:58:30 AM »
I was wondering how to go about stating ghosts in game. I have a player who is a ectomancer and calls up ghosts to do his biding similar to a summon and binding. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this in game and how to go about deciding how powerful a ghost should be in comparison to spell strength or any examples of ghosts people have used in game.
