Site Suggestions & Support / sticky this thread?
« on: July 16, 2011, 03:56:13 PM »
there is a thread that DoTArchon has created with the abbreviations used on this forum. since I have seen one person point out that the don't understand some of them (most likely what prompted the creation of this thread) and wished to have something like this do yall think it would be a good idea to sticky this somewhere?

Site Suggestions & Support / Name Lock
« on: May 15, 2011, 02:26:08 PM »
Would it be possible to unlock the name change feature for a few more days so people that were playing dressup can change back to what ever it is that want to spend the rest of there time in the forum as? some people changed to some rather silly names and it would be embarrassing for them to be stuck that way.

Site Suggestions & Support / Can the transcription thread be made sticky?
« on: February 11, 2011, 11:20:06 PM »
hey this thread, which is the transcription of some of Jim's interviews, is loose in the spoiler section. Can we get it moved to a sticky in that section so it won't get locked or deleted? also it would be easier to find.  :)

Author Craft / Books on writing?
« on: November 10, 2010, 06:24:13 PM »
Hey guys I’m working on my Christmas list and I wanted to know what books you guys think are best on the subject of writing fiction. If you can tell me a bit about the books that would be great, I don’t have that much money to spend and can only buy a couple.

I have got about 5k worth of a story written down since I started a week ago, how much writing did yall get done when yall first started? how have yall improved since then?

Site Suggestions & Support / Suggestions for FAQ topics
« on: July 27, 2010, 01:41:43 AM »

I have noticed several times that the same question will be asked over and over again by new posters and I was wondering if a few new threads could be started in the FAQ spoiler section that answers these questions. Each question could have its own thread so it will be easer to find like for example:

Quote
Is Justin dead?

Yes Justin is dead, Jim stated it so in this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DbsSGiGCmw) interview starting at 0:25.

Interviewer: Justin is behind everything isn’t he?
Jim: Justin’s dead! He’s dead! He’s dead!
Interviewer: dead dead?
Jim: He’s dead!
Interviewer: Very dead?
Jim: D-E-D dead!
Interviewer: Are you ever going to change your answer dead?
Jim: He’s dead! (rolls eyes)

(Someone that knows more than me could add in an explanation of what D-E-D dead means and where it comes from. I have only been able to find it referenced in a couple movies and understand it to mean someone is very very dead.)

I am sure there are other questions that posters have noticed get asked again and again (like what kind of dog is mouse) and would find it useful to have easy to find thread to link these questioners to so they could find the official answer. I understand the FAQ section is under the direction of Myyrdn Eopia so maybe this is something that I need to be asking him about?

Anyway I thought it might be nice to have a thread here for people to point out the questions they see asked about all the time.

Site Suggestions & Support / Mods for the Chat

I was wondering if you have any mods in the chat? that is a place that is probably going to need mods even more than the forum does.

Site Suggestions & Support / New civil discussion section?
« on: November 05, 2009, 04:09:43 AM »
Would it be possible to set up a separate spoiler section for people that only want to discuss the books and different ideas in a civil and polite manner; rather than in the argumentative format that is the way things are done in the spoiler section now? Right now the only differences I see between the spoiler section and the old TT section are the topics being argued, the tone is the same.
