I don't want him dead, that's too far. Life in prison would be so much worse.

Also of interest, I just got this in my inbox:

Quote
As Jim approaches completion of his manuscript for “Peace Talks,” he’s excited to talk about Harry’s latest exploits with his fans.  The long-awaited 16th novel of The Dresden Files is set at a summit of the various supernatural movers and shakers who shape Harry’s world, united to formulate a peace treaty with the Fomor.  However, Jim has noticed an unsettling trend among his readers, and he wanted to put a stop to some of the misinformation circulating around the fandom.

“Folks seem to have gotten the wrong impression about this book.  It’s called ‘Peace Talks.’ It’s about peace.  Generally, everyone is nice to each other and they have a good time.  They sing a few songs and drink some good beer, then they go home with everything happily resolved.”

While this may seem something of a departure from Harry’s previous adventures, after two dozen novels under his belt, Jim says he’s ready to expand upon his typical formula and experiment with other styles of storytelling.  That’s not to say there’s no conflict, however.  “Man, can you imagine how tense it’s gonna be to choose between the chicken or the fish entree when you’re seated between a harpy and the creature from the Black Lagoon?  Honestly, the host should’ve just gone for lasagna.”

Who will be at the peace talks, you may ask?  “I think the readers are going to like this one.  We’ll get to see a lot of characters we haven’t heard from in a while.  At the risk of spoilers, there’s a great scene with Marcone and King Korb calmly discussing a point of bureaucratic minutiae regarding water rights.  It’s gonna be wild.”

When his editor confronted him with quotes claiming this would be his “most supernaturally violent book to date,” Jim seemed confused at first. “Yeah.  A bunch of Accorded dignitaries just DESTROY an entire tray of cheesecakes.  They’re like piranha.  Not a single crumb of that sweet graham cracker crust remained.”

Make of it what you will.

*taptap*

Hello? Is this thing on?

5
Is Harry now Drax the Destroy giving blow by blow descriptions of his daughter's conception?

That was Drax's dad.

Meanwhile, the Marine Association thinks both sides are pathetic, so they send the Otters to represent them as a calculated insult, knowing full well they won't be able to focus for more than a few minutes on the proceedings.

Here's another way to put it.  The 6'6" body builder is obviously stronger than the 5'9" aikido master.  The aikido master will still throw the body builder around with ease.  Skill will beat raw strength let's call it 4 out of 5 times.

Harry may be magically stronger, but if he ever throws down with Luccio for instance, I'm putting my money on Ana.

Or, ya know, he just does whatever it is because we are talking about MOTHER WINTER, a literal force if nature and an elderly woman to boot.  Harry respect women.  Harry respects his elders.  Harry lips off to gods, but still plays nice if they're not trying to kill him.  I can see her telling him to commit this unspeakable atrocity like she's telling the neighbor boy to mow her lawn, and Harry trying desperately to find a way to do it without sacrificing a litter of puppies.  Scary, yet hilarious.

I think it will be horrifying.  Because Harry made the "only if I'm okay with it" deal with Mab.  What if Baba Yaga decides that because she didn't make the deal that it doesn't apply to her...

when Harry starts acting like the Mother's Knight, I could see Mab getting backed into that kind of corner.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he ALREADY Mother Winter's Knight?  The Knight serves the Queens, plural, with the specific caveat in Harry's case that he can tell them to buzz off.  So far we've seen him do wet work for Mab, but Mother Winter gave her tacit seal of approval after that Halloween fiasco.  At this point, I'm kind of afraid and excited to see his first mission for Mama Winter, because of how much more nasty she is than Mab.

And though I may be murdered by all of the fans who are currently dying for Peace Talks, I will just throw out that if you feel like you really need to write the The Olympian Affair now to make you happy, I am 100% down for that.  We all need a little bit more Rowl in our lives.

Fah!  Aeronaut's Windlass was awesome, I can't wait for Olympian Affair any more than I can wait for Peace Talks.

So we have dwarfs in the Dresdenverse

14
Doesn't change the fact that his connections are mystical PROTECTION.  Lea would have to do something to challenge that, and one thing the Leannansidhe is not is stupid.

The Svartalfar that Molly rents her apartment from.  The direct translation is "dark elf", but their crafting, obsession with things of beauty, and preference for isolationism point to the stereotypical dwarf.  Either way, we have an elf or a dwarf.
