DF Spoilers / Re: Demonreach's spells and Turn Coat
« on: March 28, 2022, 05:55:56 PM »

I'd say because it's siblings and perhaps itself had been on the island before, perhaps in an attempt to free it's siblings or others from jail.  It may have been when it's siblings were captured by the Warden of that time, and put in the "minimum" security prison as POWs perhaps?  And maybe just a wild guess, the so called "British Prisoner," also dates back to that time?

Well....  Shagnasty is not exactly young.  He may have "met" the original Merlin, or others like him, a long, long time ago...  :)

The Council is afraid of Harry Dresden because *they* know what the stars and stones are.  They also know that Harry is starborn.  Even if Harry doesn't know what all this means, the council does and they want an excuse to execute Harry.

Given that Drakul is a starborn, those fears may be somewhat legitimate, but still completely unfair.

All I know is that i want to see Harrys new smarthouse.  Better yet, I'd like to see someone on the Council to try to give Harry a hard time and realize just how f*** they are.  :)

DF Spoilers / Re: Mistakes Harry has made that will come back
« on: October 03, 2021, 08:13:28 AM »
Harry cut her throat.  I don't see any text where he said to Susan. Is this what you want? He didn't say here's my plan. Are you all in? He primed her and aimed her at Martin and pulled the trigger on her emotionally.

This is the point where Harry becomes a monster.  He is our monster but none the less a monster. He will do anything to do what it is that he wants to accomplish.  Make any deal, use anyone to save his daughter. And a reasonable person might suggest that Harry meant for it to turn out this way given that he says this in Chapter Two.

Actually, Harry was feeling guilty about it and was starting to believe that he was a monster.  In Skin Game, it was Michael who set him straight.  That as a Red Court Vampire, Susan HAD given her consent because if she didn't, Harry would not have been able to proceed.  Susan would have overpowered him.  So no, Harry is not a monster and he does not believe that he's a monster.  But he does work with/for them.

DF Spoilers / Re: Mirror Mirror character changes ideas
« on: September 24, 2021, 08:41:52 AM »
So what are your idea's on characters being different in the alternate reality?

Susan - She's alive, and full on Red Court, head of the Red Court in Chicago
Michael - He fell at Bianca's party, and offered as a gift to Mavra.  She turns him Black Court as revenge
Marcone - Knight of the Cross
Murphy - She and Marcone are lovers
Harry - Full on necromancer.  He empowers himself with shades.

Such a fun topic!!

Harry -  Denarian and completely simpatico with Lasciel.
Marcone - Knight of the Cross (This is just too good not to use).
Murphy - Dead from the Loup Garou.
Maggie - No Maggie, Harry didn't show up in time.
Susan - Still alive and still an unturned Red Court vamp, will never forgive Harry for saving Maggie (hey, how else to torture Harry even more?)
Michael - Black Court vamp (such a great idea)
Molly - a crazy mind controlling bad guy still on the run from the white council
Morgan - still dead, but took all the blame
Peabody - still slowly infecting the White Council's minds with his special ink
The Archive - I don't know how she'd be different, but she'd be an interesting character in the story.
Rudolph is a good guy and is trying to help Harry (talk about torture)
The ThreeEye drug problem is out of control in Chicago...

Well, no place in more need of some serious feng shui than Harry's new home, the castle.. I can see Lara insisting on it. ;)

I love this and it would be hilarious.

DF Spoilers / Re: Why did Bob never spot Bonnie growing?
« on: September 24, 2021, 08:18:51 AM »
Who says Bob never spotted Bonnie growing?  Who's to say that Mab didn't visit Bob and specifically threaten Bob to stay quiet?  And before anyone says that Mab cannot cross over Harry's threshold, Harry has been in her debt from before Harry picked up Lasciel's coin.  Mab can go where she wants and do what she wants.  That's why she was able to take Harry's boomstick in Small Favor.

There is no indication that Bob is fae.  He is able to lie as well as evade, misdirect and intentionally misinterpret questions.  So long as Harry never directly asked "Hey Bob, do you see an entity that is technically my offspring growing in my skull?", Bob could argue he never lied.  Heck, are we even sure that Mab is really after Bob?  The only reason why we know that Mab wants to find Bob is because Bob said so.  For all we know, Bob could be a mole under the control of Leanansidhe (and thus Mab) when Lea helped Harry defeat DuMorne.  Remember, we only know what Harry knows. :)

The fact that Bob asked for a backup skull right around the time when Bonea would need a place of her own to occupy is highly suspect and way too much of a coincidence.  In my opinion, this is an example of Bob helping Harry (and maybe passively resisting Mab's instructions) without Harry being aware of it.

DF Spoilers / Re: What would be a counter to Carlos?
« on: July 13, 2021, 03:47:55 AM »
Alright so apparently Carlos being a water mage is a good counter to Dresden's style of magic.  So what kind of magic would be good against someone like Carlos?  Earth magic?  I am thinking if he tries to kill Harry, it will be Molly using mind magic to stop him.  So that might be a good counter.

Tapioca. Carlos' water magic always (especially his shields) seems to break things down to the lowest level component.  If Harry creates a Tapioca field, things will just get gummed up.  :)

DF Spoilers / Re: What does this mean?

It means that there was a very big disturbance in the force and anyone with any kind of midi-chlorian count felt it.   ;D

I doubt he voted at all, because unless the danger at the Gates was completely passed I doubt he'd leave them.  Also it would be uncharacteristic I think for him to go ahead and vote with two of the members indisposed, especially two Harry allies.

This!  :)

Three things that I would love to see Harry work on:

1. Shapeshifting/getting lessons from River Shoulders

2. Becoming extremely familiar with his new magical smart castle.  I'd love to see harry smack surprise someone from the White Council trying to poke their nose in his business.  :)

3.  Now that Bob and Harry have both the Island, the Castle and the prison to study, it'd be awesome to see Harry develop some kind of surprise trap to transport baddies *to* the Island rather than just trick them into showing up on the lake.  It has to have been done before, right?  I mean, how did all those bad guys get tricked to the Island?  After the first few hundred, word would get out, wouldn't it?

DF Spoilers / Re: Marcone could probably beat Harry in a duel.
« on: July 01, 2021, 05:31:29 AM »
With only a little bit of time to plan, Harry was able to stand up to one of the most powerful mages on the planet:  Ebenezar.  That said, Harry is not to be underestimated when he has time to plan.  Given all that he has gone through since becoming the Winter Knight, the fact that he will *anything and everything* to keep his daughter safe, I'm confident that Harry will be spending a lot of time planning, thinking, and training (with everyone's favorite bigfoot).  :)

Plus, Harry will be getting answers from Injun Joe as well.  I expect power-ups and planning.

DF Spoilers / Bob and the Castle
« on: May 30, 2021, 06:05:22 PM »
Am I crazy or would it be cool to see Harry connect Bob's skull to the Castle in a "Bob, here is an addition to your skull" kind of way?  This would allow Bob to have the ability to monitor, access and control over the castle's defenses and maybe even put some new enchantments.  This would make the castle the magical equivalent to a smart house.  With Butters' help, he could write up some rules that reign Bob in.

Just a though....   :)

DF Spoilers / Re: Who knows about Marcone?
« on: May 20, 2021, 06:59:57 AM »
Mab definitely knows. Harry actually surprised her with the info at the end of Battleground at the meeting. He called Marcone,  Sir Baron. Mab's eyebrow went way up in surprise and understanding.

How does calling Marcone "Sir Baron" implying that Marcone has a coin?  Marcone is baron in the eyes of the Accords.  I'm not saying you're wrong, just trying to see the connection.
