DFRPG / Dresden Files Accelerated Hellfire
« on: May 17, 2017, 04:20:27 PM »
I have a question for the community- I am running a DF Accelerated campaign and I was wondering how would you model Hellfire with the new rules? Soulfire is described and I like the description but I kinda feel that Hellfire should be different. Boosting evocation magic and spells that harm others but at a cost!?

Any ideas? =)

The Olympian Affair!

Interesting, perhaps we will get to see what some other spires are like in the next book.

He has a deal for 3 books, that could potentially extend to 6 or 9. So, worst case scenario: 3, best case: 9.

Hi Dina :-*

That is good news. I like the idea of Jim writing more books, but it also wouldn't be bad if the series was a trilogy. At least that way we would find out the real story sooner.

I just finished the book 5 minutes ago and I also loved it. And dammit Mr. Butcher, I'm hooked. I got lots of questions and I can't wait to find out more about the world! Great book :D

Does anyone know how many Cinder Spires books there will be?

You have just declared war on Canada.

Someone better warn Spot she's about to be invaded.

Hahaha ;D
Spot will kick you butt, don't mess with her.

We were supposed to say aloud something we knew about another recruit. Rasians said that we liked the same book series then proceeded to explain it to everybody. All's well that ends well. I didn't end up with a body count. That's all that matters.

  ;D ;D ;D

Oh, and by the way, I told GW that there were certain people on here who really wanted to hear from him.  He got the message.

Thanks for the pictures. They both look awesome in their uniforms. I'm glad GW is doing okay :)

These cats make Cat Sith seem self-effacing and courteous.

Awesome! This series is going to kick a**! ;D

So What do we know?  He has spoken about this new series a few times at Q&A's.  I recall something about talking Cats that are as devious and manipulative as the real things, just will opposable thumbs.  And the general description is that it will be a steampunk world where everybody lives on giant spires that stick out from a sort of Mist ocean.  I seem to recall some speculation about it being a civilization living on a Gas Giant planet, but I have no idea where I got that from...

Anybody know anything?

I just knew about the cats...oh, and I think there was something mentioned about technology made from crystals. But I'm not sure and I don't know if I recall it correctly. :-\

DFRPG / Re: Iron Kingdoms/Warmachine FATE conversion?
« on: March 06, 2013, 03:31:15 PM »
I know nothing about Iron Kingdoms, but I can make suggestions if you describe it to me.

I don't think I would be able to describe it the right way. So here's a link:

It's a really cool setting. :)

First of all: Magic disrupting technology gets canned.
The different races can all be done via aspects. Trolls get access to Recovery.

Gun Mages are mostly Evocation users with Magelock pistols as their foci. A fintlock should be Weapon:3. As for Warcasters, most of them use Evocation, and controlling Warjacks is either worth
  • if the warjack is just an NPC fighting alongside the party or [-2]  if it's more in line with a Summoning/Binding ritual. Same for Warlocks. Warcaster armor is just an enchanted item with Block/Armor. Warlocks transferring damage is not part of the Fate mechanics, and I suggest leaving that one out.

Now, as for the average warjack in a DF setting:
Hulking Size [-2]
Inhuman Strength [-2] and Inhuman Toughness [-2] for light warjacks
Supernatural versions for heavy warjacks
Claws [-1] for various warjack weapons
Aquatic [-1] for certain Cryx/Merc warjacks

MAT 6 is ~Rating 3 skill, which makes them the equivalent of a high quality necromantic minion.

Thanks, good ideas. And I agree that transferring damage should be left out.

DFRPG / Iron Kingdoms/Warmachine FATE conversion?
« on: March 03, 2013, 09:31:52 AM »
I can't be the only one who is thinking about converting the Iron Kingdoms setting to Fate. Especially since Fate Core is so freaking awesome! :)

So, has anyone converted the IK to the fate system? Or if you just have an idea how it would work? Any idea's would be appreciated. Warcasters and Gun mages seem problematic to make. :-\

And we're done. 10 098 backers, 433 275 dollars.

Awesome! Congrats to Fred and the Evil hat crew. This project was worth spending money on. :D
