Cinder Spires Books / Re: Spire dimensions?
« on: March 29, 2016, 11:38:30 PM »
The book talks about how many never leave their birth habble. But I can travel to Colorado to visit cities and towns above 10,000ft. I may want to take a day to acclimate, but it's no biggie. Climbing stairs or taking a slow ship up, again , acclimate and no biggie. I took the round to be artistic not to be an actual architectural feature. (Spire as a word is usually about the point on the top) My vision was like the Washington monument on super steroids. Now about the clear stone he mentions, where is it and how much of the spire is made of it?

Cinder Spires Books / Re: Windlass Cosplay
« on: March 29, 2016, 11:27:55 PM »
Hello. Already planning my aeronaut 's captain coat for Dragoncon. (My god I'll need a hat!) My book is currently on loan amoungnst my brood and a second on the way to dissect for costuming. Alot of his descriptions are vague, relying on the reader to provide the imagery. The gauntlet requires room around the arm but can be worn under a coat, but atop a shirt to slow burns.  Leather to hold and copper spiraling around encasing the palm and arm/forearm  (control? energy transfer which the crystal amplifies?) Again, the sneaky depends on reader supplied imagery. Clothing roughly Edwardian twisted for upper air streams (spires are 10,000 feet tall- almost 2 miles)and LOTS of steps. When talking to my cosplayer, they remarked "like your wind thingys in the flower bed?" when I described the gauntlet. I find that as good as any place to start. It's the goggles that are giving me issues on design and wear ability (with a HAT! A largish hat?).

Cinder Spires Books / Re: Cinder Spires Release Question
« on: July 03, 2015, 11:35:11 PM »
Two days of and official 3 day quasi 4 day event is most of the event. In the past, typically, some authors meet and greet Thursday night. Friday and Saturday signings, panels and parties. Sunday, Please, not so loud and Monday last minute signings for all the overflow. My question remains. Many authors arrange to have "soon to be released" books available for FULL PUBLISHER PRICE to  be signed.  Several other ROC Authors will also be there signing and selling. Will The Cinder Spires: the Aeronaut's Windlass be available for sale /signing?
