DFRPG / Playing the fae
« on: May 29, 2016, 01:33:14 PM »
So obviously the Summer and Winter Courts are pretty darn cool. The current setting my group and I have come up with has a fairly large contingent of Summer Fae hanging out (protecting a gate from the mortal world to parts of the Nevernever) and of course some Winter keeping an eye on them. I'm in the embryonic stages of a story involving this, but I'm curious on one point.
How the heck does one RP these guys? I mean, they speak in riddles, never lie (technically), and are always plotting like 6 steps ahead. I want to not sound like a derp, so any advice is appreciated.

DFRPG / RPing faeries

So they can't tell an actual lie, manipulate words, twist meanings, use riddles, and generally sound far more clever than the average person. So, GMs, when your group runs into one of these things, how the heck do you RP them? How is it possible to sound inhumanly clever?

DFRPG / Stunts vs Powers

Which tends to be more effective? How well do stunt based characters stack up with powers based characters? Do PCs mix and match at all?

DFRPG / Wizards and technology
« on: April 02, 2014, 01:10:44 PM »
So even wizards can't avoid the huge impact modern technology has on everyone's lives. And I can't imagine the White Council doesn't have people working on ways to mitigate the problem. Also, am I the only one who thought Harry was over reacting to the tech problem? So what is everyone else's take on this? Do you think other wizards have as much of a problems Harry? Any cool custom powers to help lessen the problem?

DFRPG / Beyond the books
« on: March 31, 2014, 04:56:21 PM »
So I'm curious what factions and/or supernatural types, if any, people use that are either not in any of the books or briefly mentioned. I know there are some write-ups of a few interesting things on the Resources page, so that's helpful. I'm more interested in learning how/why one would use non-canon things and groups, and how it went? Any favorites you have used in games in the past?

DFRPG / Statting out GTA-type characters
« on: March 29, 2014, 02:59:15 PM »
So if I were going to run a game more in the style of Grand Theft Auto or Saints Row, I'm curious how the DFRPG could handle it. So for any of the protagonists from these games I'm thinking they would need enhanced healing, enhanced toughness, maybe some kind of subtle Fate manipulation power since things tend to happen to help them...so would they be Scions of some sort? Focused practicioners?

DFRPG / Re: Psychics

That is awesome. Thanks a million!

I'm actually putting together a mish-mash setting with elements of DFRPG, Conspiracy X and the WoD. The Laws of Magic are there, but the White Council isint as important as it thinks it is in this setting.

DFRPG / Psychics

I'm interested in having psychic characters in a DFRGP game. Anyone have some good hacks to represent the traditional psi powers like telepathy, clairvoyance, TK, etc?
