DFRPG / The Books and the RPG
« on: April 07, 2010, 03:31:46 PM »
So I was thinking when I start up a DFRPG of following the plot line of the first 10 books. Well at least starting that way if the group ends up going in a different direction I won't railroad them. None of them have read the books though a few saw the tv series when it was on and liked it. So basically I'll be dropping Harry from the game itself. So I'm looking for opinions, thoughts any pitfalls you might see. What things should I make sure to hit on things to skip. Just any advice people here might have.

DFRPG / Rules Question
« on: April 07, 2010, 02:48:56 AM »
So I've read most of the rules and I may have missed it. But what about rules for things like poison? or continuous damage? or falling? what about bonuses to things such as hiding in a dark room wouldn't the character get a bonus without having to spend a fate point? say the room is dark enough to give a +1 or +2 surely the player shouldn't have to spend a fate point for a simple enviormental bonus? I could see spending the point to move through the shadows unseen.

More gushing. I've had time to read through more of it. Fantastic definitely worth waiting for. The blood sweat and tears of Evil Hats hard work shows I can't wait for the print versions!

Love it so far. Been waiting for this game for a while. Now my only problem is I have a Mage game I've been running with DF influences but now I want to run this game!!! This is my first real intro to the FATE system. So far I'm loving the magic system. I've been skipping around reading different parts of the game trying to wrap my head around it.

I just might have to run this game soon not sure yet how. Luckily a real slow day at work today so I've had plenty of time to read. Everything I've read so far has been fantastic.
