Cinder Spires Spoilers / Purpose of the spires (possible spoilers)
« on: November 22, 2015, 06:37:50 AM »
With alera, the humans somehow got there by accident. They are the descendants of some lost roman legion, that ended up there, and adapted to this new world. Also, some posts I think, said that this world was were many groups washed up after their journeys.
The thing is I can't think this is what happened here dur to the lethality of the surface and the spires themselves. Unless this is the result of millennium on a new world, I have to think, these spires were specificly made for the humans here. So some wanted them in this world doing something.

I wonder how Albion was the place that multiple copies of this book was there. If it was such a priority to obtain, there must be other copies in other spires. It would be easie to get than enemy territory. Sure they wanted to destroy every copy there, so why not take them with you. That way Albion has none, while they have many. With the destruction of the library, and death of its keepers, no one could say it survived.

Cinder Spires Spoilers / Re: Social Status of Warriorborn
« on: November 22, 2015, 05:30:18 AM »
It seems like it is a mistake to even attempt to marginalized a group of people built to fight. I wonder if there is somekind of warrior society/guild. The Way might just have started as a way to impose discipline on them.

Cinder Spires Spoilers / Re: Who is the main character? (possible spoilers)
« on: November 22, 2015, 05:10:12 AM »
Tavi is said to be distantly related to harry dresden. This is due to them having some kind of common ancestor or lineage. So it is likely the main character here would have a similar family link. The thing is both Tavi and harry wield great power, so it would make sense if if the main character had their own. But the thing is, there is only a limited number of people with such an ability but they are kind of broken.
I wonder, Grimm has such a bond/link to his ship, could that develop into power like folly has. Just like Tavi started with just his wits, this guy could be the same. He has an advantage, his ship could fill the holes that the power created.

Cinder Spires Spoilers / Re: Waste systems
« on: November 22, 2015, 04:44:21 AM »
how do they mine? If they dig underneath the spire they reissue destabilizing it. How would they even locate new site if the surface is so deadly?

The waste systems are likely linked to the meat vatteries and the water gardens, that are likely in some form in each Habble. They must have some really advance hydroponics or at least a magical version.

Cinder Spires Spoilers / Re: Spire dimensions and populations
« on: November 22, 2015, 03:19:42 AM »
I am wondering just how far down the spire reaches. Such a huge construction likely needs a lot of reinforcement in it foundations. The spire is an archology, a common version is an underground environment.

I have found nine names of spires so far, but who knows how many more there are. From a a description from folly, the ether lines are influenced by the spires as they act as sinks drawing energy to feed the spires systems, but what else do the spires use this power from. If you think about it, spires are a form of pseudo crystal which channels the power.
Only ships have power cores, I wonder if something could've set up so that spires act as power cores allowing devices powered but them can be shared amongsth the common population. Electricity for all.

Cinder Spires Spoilers / Re: Thoughts about "Iron Rot"
« on: November 22, 2015, 03:11:45 AM »
How exactly do they get metal for their needs? Trees I can understand can be harvested even if the process is risky, but how can they ever mine in safety. The surface is mist covered and dangerous, so how would they find new mines to suit their needs. Can mines be run for centuries without playing out.

It could be that all of Bobs answers were true for a given value of truth, either to obscure stuff, or simply lost in translation of magical lore. Like there are like to beings that are both living and dead, so multiple answers on if they can be killed.

There was this movie caled treasure guards, it was about relic hunters belonging to the church that would locate and secur items that have been touched by god i think. I wonder what relics the church has been able to keep ahold of.

Blood might have still gotten on the object, cleanliness is not a priority in a crucification.

All these items have been touched by blood, so they potentially carry some of his power. There is a list of around 40 miracles, it has healin and dealing with demons. So they could allow for similar act to happen again. The thing is I wonder what has happened to the cross it self.
