So this is probably as good a place as any to ask... I'm thinking of setting up a DeviantArt.com account to showcase and possibly sell some photos. I just wonder if anyone here has tried them. Mostly I'm weight the pros and cons between them, Etsy, and setting up a private site and trying to finangle the sales on my own.

I don't even know if anything will sell... but, with all the time I have on my hands now, I figure I could at least try it. I just need a cost effective solution.

ANY advice would be welcome!

Everyone here is so talented! Brooke, I'll post comments once I can get my browser to stop being stupid. (I haz to reboot)

TC... I love the way you capture the light and colors so naturally. My favorite had to be the tomatoes. They looked noms!  ;) And the light and shadows were awesome too.

I'd sugject asking him on Twitter... or sending him a PM to his forum accounts. I don't know how ofter he checks PM's here, but I do know he's pretty responsive to posts to him on Twitter.

My quick and dirty opinion would be that it's an excellent introduction. There are rough points as far s formatting goes, such as spacing the dialouge so you know who's speaking, and where time elapses between scenes.

And one really easy fix...

My head went to throbbing, like my brain was trying to escape from my brain.

I'd change the 2nd brain to 'skull' or something similar. So you don't use the same word twice in one sentence. Also I'd love more indepth description of what happens between the two chracters at the end.
It's a fantastic first draft, and what's great is all the basic stuff is THERE. Just edit it a little to smooth out the flow and you've already started something great.

One of the lessons I've learned in living overseas is that sometimes the places and people
you expect to be the most alien are actually the most similar and those you'd expect to
be similar can at times be the most alien.

Sometimes I think my coworkers ARE aliens.  ;) :D But seriously, I agree. I feel a little... uncultured... given that I've never gone overseas. The thought of being in a country where no one understands what I'm saying frightens me. But there are times when I see so many amazing things, that I hope someday to conquer that hurdle and travel. Someday! I hope!

Seph - That's a great picture - love the play light against the dark.

One of the shots I took last week when we had the Consulate offsite.

M... That's beautiful. What both amazes, and causes me to question my amazement, is how somewhere so incredibly far away from me, can still look so similar and familar to places I see near home.
Love it!  :)

The bee's are purty... and fuzzy and buzzy too. I also love the birdie piccy.

I cannot really compete with bees... I haz a few ladybugs in my collection tho.

Today I come to share something different. I haz a happy. There's a building I've often driven past at night, and I finally have a good photo of it.

There's something I just love about stairs. And these just glow, all by themselves, pointing at the street.
I'm sure there's a metaphor in there somewhere.

Very top right corner of this screen. "Please support this site by buying from the Jim-Butcher.Com Store!" It has a separate link to shirts.

Or just click here... :D

M... I love your pictures of the beach!

And as far as this thread goes I'm hoping to post more pictures here soon. I just got a new camera. *still over the moon about it* So I would love to get feedback.
And yeah, I'd love to hear actual criticism if there's anything I need to improve upon!

The last time I had been there was a 5th grade field trip.  It's been fun to look at my old photos and see what's changed in 14 years.  (In the caverns that is)

You haven't changed since 5th Grade?  :o So you're shorter than me??  ;)  ;D

Couldn't resist.

*crawls out of the netherworld* Fantastic pictures WSF! *huggles* Though being freaked out below the earth is fairly natural, there tends to be a heavier pressure in enclosed underground pressure, and with the lack of moving air, it can make your senses start to freak out.

Heh heh heh ... I know Persephone a little better than you, Orange. I'd lay odds she'd try it!  :D

*WEG* Having met Shannon... She has earned my respect by being totally perfect for Jim. So as much as it might entertain me to make Jim blush, I won't DO it.
But I will enjoy the thought of having a framed, signed, Bob thong on my wall. heheheh

Uhmmm, ok, so I wandered over to this thread because I didn't know shirts were available and I was thinking that might be a fun gift to get a friend who is a fan.  I will probably buy them one of the "Movie of my life" shirts, so thanks!

But, hah, dangit I can't stop laughing at this -- http://www.cafepress.com/jimbutcher.337060526.  You guys crack me up with that, that's awesome.

Nice selection on the site for sure  ;D.  I wouldn't mind seeing a couple more quotes, but then I could see it being too many.  Haha, that is awesome.

I suppose the remaining question would be... Would it disturb Jim if someone asked him to sign the...*ahem* Bob merchandise...? *eyebrows waggle* I'm sure I'm not the only woman who'd want a personal signature. Tho in my case I'd the item framed rather than wear such a valuable autograph.
