Site Suggestions & Support / New sub-board or Tag for RPG
« on: February 05, 2013, 09:21:27 PM »
Would it be possible to make a special sub-Bar board for all the RPG threads? Or at least ask that the ongoing threads get labeled as RPG rather than actual discussion topics?

The first 10 threads a few minutes ago were all RPG things.  It just seems to be getting a little cluttered....

I'm not exactly sure what you mean.
Are you using the SEARCH bar under your avatar, or the menu option which has basic and advanced search?

Hi

This is the place to look for a game...
http://www.jimbutcheronline.com/bb/index.php/board,47.0.html

You might want to give everyone a better idea of what you are thinking about for your character in terms of abilities and all that. You can work on the first few aspects, but character creation/ aspects works better when you have other characters to interact with.

There is also the Resources section which has a lot of stuff for characters including various character sheets and extra characters and all that. It helps to look at Vol 2 of DFRPG (Our World) because most of the major characters are written up as game characters. It helps a bit to see how certain people have been statted up.

Have you checked the DFRPG Resources thread?

http://www.jimbutcheronline.com/bb/index.php/topic,22322.0.html

There are quite a few characters (wardens included) that you might want to use as reference to get started.
There are a few character creation threads farther back in the DFRPG main room as well.
Also check out some of the Play-by-post threads. Characters and stats are posted at the beginning, so you might want to see how other people have created characters.

Do you have access to a copy of Our World? All of the warden character sheets are there, so you can see how Morgan stats up.

The other option is to just post what you already have here- see what suggestions and explanations you get. I'm sure you'll get more than you want (or need!)

What part are you having trouble with, exactly? The aspects or the skills/stress etc?

Sorry guys, I missed the last session, I came down with a stomach virus and spent the week end in bed. I completely forgot about the session until it was already Monday. Barring a relapse of some sort I should be there Wednesday.

No prob- we didn't play anyway cuz BS could only be around for an hour. So wed is the big night.
Hope you are feeling better...

DFRPG / Kickstarter looking for old D&D campaigns....
« on: September 22, 2012, 12:45:20 AM »

http://boingboing.net/2012/09/21/kickstarting-a-book-of-homemad.html

They are looking for homemade adventures for consideration in the book. I am reasonably confident that there are at least a couple people here that might have one or two old campaigns filed away.  ::) ;)

Just thought I'd share.

Calendar Event Discussion / Re: Where would YOU like Jim to appear?
« on: September 19, 2012, 02:47:41 PM »
Just to put the vote out for anywhere in Southeast Michigan.  I know many people who would fill the store for a signing, and I and others would gladly take him out to dinner and put him up if desired.  (which I doubt, but you never know).  I went to his Ann Arbor signing for Changes, but we apparently didn't rate a return for Ghost Story.  :(

I think the only place he has returned to recently is in MO (near his home base)!! Apparently he isn't good at traveling and so his signing tours are rather limited. They seem to choose a good mix of places across the country, but never A LOT of places per tour and no repeats as far as I can tell. He was in Boston last year, so I'm pretty sure if I want to go to another signing I'll be doing the traveling! Oh well...

DFRPG / Re: Any Reccommendations For Pregenerated Adventures?
« on: August 22, 2012, 07:05:56 PM »
Do you mean the story already made? Because there are a few campaign settings available. They are more of a middle point between starting from scratch with your own city and a total pre-generated adventure.

There are a few cities to look at... with the other capsule settings you might be able to use these to make a new game pretty easily.

If you make 1,000 posts, you get a pair of Posty McPosterpants as a reward   :)

Welcome and have fun!

Well, actually you become a Posty McPostington who is the person that wears the McPosterpants. It's all very complicated... and scary. You should see some of the pants. (I still see spots sometimes.) I'm sure some of them aren't legal.

You can change your avatar to a personal pic at 100 posts if the avatar choices chafe. Much like a pair of Posty McPosterpants. So choose wisely.
