DFRPG / Some questions
« on: November 05, 2017, 11:19:15 PM »
I own the first edition of The Dresden Files RPG and played it a decent amount.  I really enjoyed the game.  I haven't played in quite some time but yesterday I picked up Dresden Files Accelerated at my local gaming store.  It looks really amazing but I was disappointed that some of the Mantles I'm interested in playing are not available.  I want to run a campaign NOT in the actual Dresden-verse but very, very similar.  I really want to play as a Black Court vampire so I can be a more traditional Stoker-esque vampire but there is no Mantle for this in the book.  Is this because they are more powerful than normal Mantles or something?

How can I alleviate this? Are there rules for building your own Mantles?

Thanks in advance!

Since Black Court vampires are so expensive to create and isn't really viable for a beginning PC because of this I thought I'd ask for a bit of help. I'm gearing up to play in a new DFRPG campaign soon. The first time I played DFRPG I played as a Red Court Initiate. I'd this time like to play as a member of the Black Court. A while back I downloaded a fan-made template for a "Black Court Initiate." I am going to list below my original Red Court Initiate vampire and then below it the template for a Black Court Initiate. Would anyone be willing to take what I have on the Red Court Initiate and translate it over onto the Black Court Initiate template? Moving over skills, Aspects, etc. Of course the powers will need to be redone but it might be simple since the costs are listed right here with them.

Please help me make him into the best Black Court Initiative he can be!

Jonathan did not want this life and saw it as a curse, thus breaking his heart, and damning him to an eternity of blood lust.

The Story: What was your First Adventure?
•   Jonathan rescues a group of humans, who are about to be turned by Red Court Vampires, including his love, Elizabeth, who is leading the vampires in their effort to turn the hapless humans. Jonathan interferes and rescues the humans but in doing so, he runs into direct conflict with his Red Court brethren and Elizabeth herself. DFRPG / Anyone want to play in Columbus, Ohio??
« on: March 09, 2011, 10:45:25 PM »
I have a group of some former players that I've played RPGs with for years (including DFRPG) and some new blood that are looking to form a new group and I'm thinking of trying to get a DFRPG game together.  Are any of you near Columbus, Ohio and would be interested in playing or GM'ing? I'm hugely experienced in RPGs and GM'ing as well but I'd rather play if any of you would like to GM.  If not though, I can definitely GM.

DFRPG / Question about Red Court Infected
« on: July 29, 2010, 12:12:00 AM »
In the DFRPG it states that a Red Court Vampire or Infected must check after every conflict in which any of their powers were used against their Hunger track.  One of the Inhuman Speed power's features is a static + 4 to initiative.  This is a static bonus and doesn't make it look like you would have to check against Hunger just for getting your STATIC bonus.  You aren't really turning the power on to get this bonus but it is inherent from the power.  Thus my question is: Do you have to do a Discipline check against Hunger just for getting your static + 4 initiative bonus from Inhuman Speed? If so, this game really makes it VERY cumbersome to play a vampire.  I know they are trying to mimic the source material and simulate blood lust but this would tend to get tedious quite quickly for me.

DFRPG / DFRPG template/powers question
« on: July 27, 2010, 04:51:00 AM »
I had a quick question....when I created my character I had looked at other supernatural powers outside the musts of the Red Court Infected template such as claws but did not think I could spend the Refresh to add any of them because it was not listed as one of the Options on the Red Court Infected template. So the only things you can add powers-wise in addition to your template are the things listed under Options? Is that correct?

DFRPG / Red Court Infected question
« on: July 23, 2010, 02:44:11 AM »
I am getting ready to start a DFRPG group online this coming Monday and I rolled a Red Court Infected vampire character.  However, my original background for him had him being a British aristocrat form the 1700s originally that was turned into a Red Court Infected by the love of his life at the time.  However, at the time I was not sure if Red Court vampires have longer lifespans or not.  I am currently in chapter 22 of Grave Peril in my chronological reading of the books.  I am pretty sure a Red Court Infected does not have a longer lifespan, correct?

DFRPG / Seeking GM for online DFRPG campaign over Skype!
« on: June 17, 2010, 11:52:58 PM »
I am seeking someone interested in telling good stories in the Dresden Files RPG over Skype. I have players that are willing to play and ready to go but I just need to find someone dedicated to being a good GM and telling good stories. I am looking to play, personally.

DFRPG / DFRPG over Skype anyone?
« on: June 06, 2010, 02:26:19 AM »
I have become EXTREMELY interested in this game and would love to play over the net in real time using Skype and any other tools you all might want to include.  Are any of you possibly interested in setting this up? I'd rather play than GM but if the need arises, I could GM if needed.  I have decades of pen & paper RPG experience and have always wanted to play in an urban fantasy RPG setting or lately, in the Dresden universe itself.

Any interest out there?
