hey, I just wanted to thank you all on the Brute Squad of deleting profiles, for not deleting my account. I dont know how long I have been away, but my gf of 20 months ended it the end of June, and a friend died in a fatal hit and run wednesday morning. I am trying to get on, I really love it here, I just have lost interest in life most of the time.... Thank you for being considerate.

I changed my member form to require a 123 entered, and that stopped the bots. if I see a lot of attempted posts to my forum, I'm going to just alter the names of the forms used in membering and submitting. They can then just eat 404 .

wow. lol. but speaking of error 404, I can't find something.
I have been looking nonstop for over 40 minutes (I was bored, it's fourth period...)
I can't find a hierarchy of titles given to profiles... Is there one?

« on: May 04, 2011, 09:26:03 PM »
I am completely stuck with a couple points on different supernatural beings. Namely, a demon... but really any type of magical/sci fi being...

any suggestions or tips on how to make a realistic unreal character?

He saw himself as a man manager and was a public voice in the drive to reform Scotland's penal system; brighter, better-equipped halls; a strong emphasis on vocational training, education and counseling; no more overcrowding, no more brutality...

Is this better?

I was trying to make a different meaning than what was already posted... didn't realize that we were trying to capture the original. Guess I forgot that part of the directions...

heehee

Author Craft / Re: How to Describe a Setting
« on: May 04, 2011, 04:10:09 PM »
one of my favorite ways to describe a setting... at least initially anyways, is to describe some specific detail, like a bird on the wind; and zoom out and around from there. Like to describe a city, maybe the wind blew angrily through the streets, rattling the windows and blasting gritty sand to all things unsheltered.

Take one object, and describe how it interacts with its environment. From that description, it is easier to branch off to other senses and aspects. Not to be used constantly, but at least it helps to brainstorm the area better if you don't actually place it word for word in the story.

You know how it is... always wanting what you can't have.
