Ran with the Satyr idea a bit.  Satyrs are typically not well-mannered, and most don't seem to accept that rape is wrong. All Satyrs are male, and all began life as Changelings.  Satyrs breed with mortal women and the results are always male Changeling offspring which commonly become Satyrs themselves.  Some Satyrs will drop back by to check on their offspring sometime after the young Changeling begins to express Fae traits (typically puberty), and they often seek to encourage the Choice.  Because of this behavior, Satyrs can start to assemble bands of their offspring which can lead to an alarming increase in sexual assaults (and other assaults) in the areas where the band travels.

In my opinion, you can play anything with a positive Refresh. A long as you have that, there's still some free will/soul left. I don't really see a RCV as any more monstrous than a WCV, and if Thomas can be the exceptionally humane WCV, then someone should be able to play the RCV counterpart.

I also suggest dropping Echoes of the Best from the RCV template - like the RCV named NPCs do - and adjusting the cost to -10 Refresh.  Still too much for any by the book starting character, but not much beyond that.

I'd love to see the Sword of Frey - the one that can fight on its own - statted up.

I know that a magical assassin with an easy to exploit weakness is going to have a short career, so in cases like that, an obscure/exotic Catch makes sense and adds tension (and, if handled right, drama).
I'll have to disagree here.  If the enemy is intelligent, they can hide even a "common & known" weakness.  Your magical assassin could have something as common as Cold Iron as The Catch, but then he hides that he's a Changeling (Glamours work wonders, and so does adequate precautions and planning) so that it doesn't open him to a hurting quite so much.  To me that's more interesting and strains my suspension of disbelief less than some of these crazily exotic versions of The Catch.

I'm not sure why there's so many attempts to make The Catch into something so exotic that's it's almost impossible for it to come up.  I'd rather see The Catch be something that likely will come up in play (especially for PCs with The Catch) and instead try to make the creature/opponent more interesting and have to think through things rather than just rely on a near-impervious defense from a super-obscure application of The Catch.

That's incorrect. The Catch  value limit is based on the total of Recovery and Toughness, not to the higher of the two.

One of my group's PCs is part troll; his true form is much larger and uglier (while still within human parameters) than his guise. But we play it that the guise is really something that makes people think they are seeing something else, but somehow are subconsciously aware of the real thing.. so people react by giving him more room.  It's very common for him to squeeze into an elevator, and everyone else pushes themselves to the walls, despite him looking like a normal sized person.

Another argument for taking Glamours over Human Guise is that a Changeling is supposed to draw their powers from their Fae parent.  Trolls don't have Human Guise, so it seems odd to have selected it for a Troll-blooded Changeling while Glamours is a power common to Trolls.

If you are making up your own Fae and Changelings based upon them, then this is something to keep in mind.  However, to the best of my recollection, none of the Fae in the book really look human except when using a Seeming (as per Glamours).

I have to agree that Cold Iron should have a +4 value as The Catch (assuming sufficient Recovery and/or Toughness powers).  It's an easy fix to make when it comes up (mainly with Changeling PCs).

If your Changeling has Glamours, then masking your non-human features seems like a pretty basic use of a Seeming.  In fact, not only can you mask these features, but you can disguise yourself as another too.  I love the Glamours power, and I personally think that it's more fitting for a Changeling than Human Guise.  Why?  Because I like that a Changeling has to exert at least a minimum of supernatural effort to look human, whereas Human Guise makes you look human until you exert supernatural effort.

Hopefully you meant Supernatural Recovery rather than Supernatural Toughness, since the lack of Inhuman(+) Toughness is one of the only weaknesses of a WCV.

Aside from that, I don't like linking Inhuman(+) Toughness powers to the hunger stress track since it's pretty much an entirely passive ability.  I don't think a vamp can elect to not be tough (armor and stress boxes), but Inhuman (+) Recovery powers being linked to the hunger stress track makes perfect sense to me.

Are you suggesting that Refinement is limited to mortal magicians (wizards, sorcerers, etc.) and that it doesn't fit with those that only use straight sponsored magic?

Would you allow a Changeling of Sidhe descent to take Seelie/Unseelie Magic?  If yes, would you allow them to take Refinement?

That would seem to imply that a Summer Knight/Winter Knight could probably get the mentoring necessary to take Refinement in Seelie Magic/Unseelie Magic.

Whatever is left after burning - mostly just the skeletons - is almost human in form.  If there is another cause of death, like lots of bullets, the form will be more clearly non-human.  Either way, the Flesh Mask won't last long after death, certainly not past sunrise without the vamp putting more power into it.

That doesn't mean that Soulfire couldn't have been interpreted to disrupt the Recovery ability sufficiently to delay healing.  Thematically, Soulfire was involved in the damage dealt.  Disagree if you like, but this interpretation seems to allow for the delayed recovery seen in the novels and also makes sense with Thorned Namshiel's listed inhuman Recovery or any higher value of enhanced Recovery.

Thorned Nhamshiel should not have a base human form at all; he is the Fallen, entirely taking over the mortal host. THAT is why he was so angry at Dresden wielding Soulfire against him.
Also, he should not have recovery. He should have toughness instead; he did not recover from Harry's attacks even a day later (anyone with recovery would have recovered in only scenes) but he did survive being hurled completely through several walls.
Even Mythic Recovery won't speed healing if the Catch was involved. Since Soulfire satisfies the Catch for Denarians, this might just cover it while still allowing the Denarian to have Recovery powers.
