The Spirit of the Century DINOCALYPSE TRILOGY kickstarter is live! You can check it out -- and hopefully contribute! -- at:

Make sure to check out the video. Long time fans of Spirit of the Century should find plenty of "squee" in it. :)

Also, the second sample chapter just went up:

And there goes the goal. That was quick.

Think I'll go for the Sidekick level as soon as I can borrow a credit card. I've been meaning to get SotC for a while.

Do Canadians have to pay the international surcharge?

The first goal! We need to hit $10k for the full trilogy to proceed at maximum speed. :)

This thing's about to end, people. Pledge while you can.

The goal's been passed over and over, so the prizes have gotten better. You can get 7 books for $10 now.

Plus, this is a good chance to get Spirit of the Century.

Kickstarter is definitely changing the market place.  Using that you can get enough preorder commitments to justify going ahead - or see that there isn't enough interest to justify the product.  At least one company (White Wolf) is now using it to determine their printruns - so if you don't get involved in the kickstarter you have to go the PDF or print on demand route to get the book.

I'm glad to see that Evil Hat's fiction was able to get at about eight times its goal - and hadn't noticed that I'd be getting extra books when I joined at the $10 level.
