Title: Eyes in the sky?
Post by: Snark Knight on January 24, 2026, 03:23:56 AM
I'm not done the book yet, but those repeated instances of Harry feeling like he's being watched from above... I'm assuming that's a federal spy drone?

If so, what about a piece of technology is triggering his supernatural spidey senses?  I can buy vague perceptions of the airspace over the island thanks to his connection with its intellectus, but back in the city, even after the EMP, there has to be plenty of other technology brought back in from outside as part of the aid effort.

A reasonable assumption.

Please, remove that post. The Knight had not finished the book, and your post is not spoiler-tagged either, so any member of the forum that has not read the book can read your post.

You are right to be concerned Dina, but the heading of this thread says this is a spoilers zone and it's okay to use them in discussions.  So people are warned before hand.

More or less, the etiquette of the forum has always been to take care and spoiler-tag the spoilers about the new books, so folks don't need to stay away of the whole section of the forum just because they haven't read the last book. It is also in the rules of this subforum https://www.paranetonline.com/index.php/topic,16.0.html, but besides that, it has always been the costume here. You may remember than we were spoiler-tagging posts almost a year after the publication of a book. I still remember my fury with someone spoiled me Maggie's name. I was so upset I made a harsh post and Iago gave me a warning. I am still sore...

@Dina, my brother in law told my sister that Dumbledore died before she had a chance to read that book. Harry Potter was what got her into reading. He's been a good husband and father. I still say I wouldn't have married him after that.

That may be Dina, and I don't disagree with you, but then they need to change the title for this thread!
"DF Spoilers."  That's pretty clear, it's fair warning, if a person doesn't want to be spoiled don't go into this thread.  I am sorry that happened to you, but given the title for this thread I don't think you did anything wrong.

Back when the mods were more around, they always asked to spoiler-tag the posts about the most recent book, especially the first couple of months.
