I am a veteran podcaster, having spent the better part of the last 2 decades producing (https://youtu.be/_yi_8KotYE0) audio (https://youtu.be/xeDB8Qvpylw) content (https://youtu.be/NUU4elvMmr8) in the form (https://youtu.be/DmEcSOiFDn0) of commentary (https://youtu.be/i1z_8HmjETc) or podcasts (https://youtu.be/NfrDSvfsyGc).

I am now starting a new project: A proper, high quality podcast exploring the Dresden files books 1-2 chapters at a time.  The general idea for this show came together while listening to the Prancing Pony Podcast (https://theprancingponypodcast.com/).  I wish to do something like that, but more concisely, and for my favorite series: The Dresden Files.

However, I can’t do it alone.  I’m in the market, as it were, for a co-host.  Someone who can speak extemporaneously on the world/characters/themes/mysteries/fan theories of the Dresden Files for as long as I can.  Bonus points if this person has experience in any of the following areas:
 - Podcasting/audio*
- Audio editing*
- Podcast RSS Feed posting*
- Video streaming*
- Website creation/customization*
- Graphic/branding creation
- Story narration (I expect us to be reading excerpts from the books, and while we can’t hope to match Mr. Marsters, I do hope we can avoid people bleeding from the ears)
- Knowledge of/interest in literary structure/tropes/critique
- Knowledge of/interest in mythology (the better to compare to Butcher’s use of mythological characters in the Files).
- Any other skill/expertise/knowledge that might be of use in such an endeavor

*Note: I have experience in each of these areas from past projects, and I am prepared to do them again, but it would be nice to be able to split the work.

I’ve put together a 10 minute preview (https://youtu.be/LTpbSmNp2L0) of the show to demonstrate the structure and quality I expect to produce.  Even if you aren’t interested in the Co-host position, feel free to take a listen and let me know if you have any constructive criticism or ideas on how it could be improved.

If this sounds like a project you want to be involved in, please complete this application (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd5T5YpAZm1ATC-0nq4VpZ_iNhzoBJ_5BEvYHWoXS_a0cE5Nw/viewform?usp=header).

 More Details:
 - This would be a re-read focused podcast, filled with spoilers up to the current book (at the time the episode is recorded).
- I’d like to start with a bi-weekly recording schedule (one episode every other week), with an option to accelerate that to weekly shows at some point in the future (if feasible).
- My aim is for each episode to examine 1-2 chapters at a time, and last around 50-60 minutes
- Each episode would start immediately diving into the book section we are reading for the day.  We would work our way through the section, alternating between reading an excerpt (of 2-3 paragraphs) and just describing what happens.  We would stop at any point where we have questions to discuss or information of note to bring up.
- After we finish our reading section (~30-40 mins), we may include a special segment at the end of the episode.
 - Examples include: Just how “Noir” is Dresden anyway?  Examinations of Dresden’s magic system, feminism, chauvinism, and the male gaze, fan theories, Listener Q&A, examinations of specific themes in the Files, and more.

- I live in the US Eastern time zone (UTC-5) and will need to schedule most of the recording sessions in the evening (after 7pm ET).
- I want this to be a high quality production.  That means good microphones/equipment, quiet recording environments, and no distractions.
- Episodes would be recorded “Live to Tape”. This means we would record as if we were live, which minimizes the amount of editing after the fact.  I plan to mark places where editing is required and ‘fix it in post’ as needed.
- Eventually we may shift to recording ‘live’ to a youtube stream for viewers to watch.
- I do not plan to monetize this at the start.  This is a passion project, not a job.  I am open to adding a patreon down the road (if the quality of the show is up to my standards) to allow fans to show their appreciation and cover costs.
