I don't know if it's just me, but the main board doesn't seem to be showing when a there's a new post. And, strangely enough, it's as if it stopped working around 1:30. For example, Booklover posted in CAW around then, and I posted in another thread about twenty minutes later, but it's showing BookLover's post as being the last post.
Also, the main sections that had posts I hadn't read around that time are still showing that there are posts to be read. As I said, I don't know if it's just me, but this has never happened before, so I'm thinking it's the site.
-
I've also found that any threads (including this one) and posts created after whatever the magical time is, appear and disappear at random. It's very strange.
-
If no one else admits to having the same problem in three hours, I'm confiscating Priscillie's brownies from the Heavy Load thread and you will not be allowed to have any more of them Helen. ;)
-
I'm telling you, unless I go through "Show new posts to your replies" or the other one, I can't see any posts or threads that were posted after about 1-1:30. I am NOT hallucinating. Maybe Iago's getting even with me for hijacking that thread yesterday. If Hawthorn doesn't have any problems, I'm going with that theory. I'm being punished.
-
Actually - that thought did cross my mind as well...
Iago has mysterious powers and we'd all be better off to Honor the Fred!
-
I do Honor the Fred. I'll even Worship the Fred if he'll do something about this. It's driving me nuts. Very disorienting.
-
It doesn't do it on my home computer, so I guess the problem is my work computer. That doesn't make sense as I've posted from there for months without a problem. But, whatever.
-
Fine... you can keep the brownies... but no more taking them in your lunch to work with you!
-
I've already stashed some in my desk.
-
I feel like I've seen signs of this off & on, but nothing consistent. It makes me wonder if there's some sort of "clock issue" going on... but I'm not in a good position to investigate and solve it.
Let's tough it out for a week and see if it shakes out.

It occured to me a bit ago that something similar happened the other night. I posted in one of the threads, then the post disappeared. It reappeared a few minutes later, so I thought I was tired and just imagined it. It was from home, too. If the problem recurs, do you want to be notified?

Yes, but let's give it a couple days before reporting it -- I don't necessarily want to know of *every* occurrence... :)
-
Nah, I'd be more inclined to do what I did earlier. Wait awhile and try and give as much info as possible all at the same time. It'll work if I go through the show unread posts thing, so it's not critical. Thanks.

I had the same problem when I logged in from work this morning. I decided to try clearing out my temp. internet files. That seems to have worked. I've had no problems for the past five hours.

Oh, interesting! I wonder if the site sets a session data field referencing your timestamp for last viewed or something -- and gets confused by timestamps that existed before on the other machine but which might now be time zone shifted on the new one.
-
But wouldn't that have caused the same problem with my home computer?

There might be a cookie-interaction component to it -- something that would be specific to information stored in that machine's browser.

OK. At least I know what to do if it happens again. BTW...Your site clock is an hour ahead of EST. It jumped an hour last night sometime.

Actually it's the timezone set in your profile that's doing that, but it's in reaction to something I did, which I'll undo. :)

Gracias.
