I am going with Maggie Sr. Because I see her as the catalyst to all book problems. Though, I am sure Michael's would be insprational.
-
Really it depends how well written they are. :)
-
What if they were autobiographical?
-
Silly Warden, we're already reading the original Merlin's Memoirs ;p
*Kemmler, I wanna know what he knew.

Yep, silly me, I forgot about the cyclic nature of Harry's life.

Morgan

I'd rather not have any, because part of what makes the series worth having for me, longer term, is the pacing of what Harry finds out, when he finds it out, and how it fits together and changes what we and he knew before. I am generally not fond of the short stories from other viewpoints and can't say I feel the whole body of DV text would lose much if it did not have them (though I might feel differently if there were any - and I have not read all of them - which had focuses in entirely separate bits of the DV from Harry.)
-
well i want atleast mouse and misters based books to freshen up the series also books were marcone and nicolodemus would be appreciated since both man are whole different ball game then wizard/ private investigator/ knight of plot harry's perspective
-
I was just assuming we got the memoirs after the series was completed because the memoirs of Mister will give away too much.
-
I usually enjoy the short stories. Especially the funny misadventure ones.
-
Nicodemus - I'd like to see the historical record, and to better understand the reasons behind his choices.
Lara - the SEX
Maggie Sr - To see how exactly she was redeemed
And Kemmler - similar to Nicodemus'. See why he did what he did. And to prove my theory about Rashid and Demonreach.

I didn't know you had one, give me a short hand version?

Lord Raith... That would be very interesting to read. It would not be boring. It would be filled with lots of eroticism, deceit, eroticism, power plays, eroticism, murder, oh and it would also have eroticism.
It would be like reading about an immortal, sexually turbo charged Lex Luthor.

Damn, ok. I'll read that lol.

Is it just me or everytime we mention Mister this cat urine spam appears?
-
Billy BOyd, Will Bordern. I'd read his memoirs through the Paranett Papers RPG

Misters urine is a holy relique and its smell can save you.
-
I thought it was his way of showing displeasure at us for talking about him without his permission.

Depends on the location, a lot of things are context sensitive. Cleaning his tray is an act of worship that brings you closer to the white god. It is a form of meditation.
-
Maybe, this.
-
Maybe, this.
To sell them as holy relics of course.
-
Okay, this is just a test. I am typing Mister the Cat to see if the cat urine spam returns.
-
Depends. Can I keep the Council and other great powers in the dark about it? Otherwise, reading some of those might well get me killed.
-
I doubt Cowl is going to kill you for reading "Frozen: The Life of Mab, the Snow Queen."
-
Rashid the Gatekeeper needs to be added to this list...
-
Added.
-
Interesting question. I would love to see some behind the scenes reasoning for some actions. Mab, Nicodemus, McCoy, and Rashid are my top picks.
-
Which one of the biggies, like Mab, Odin, or Uriel, would have the broadest, most detailed understanding of what is going and what everything is leading to? Might be a good topic for a thread....?
-
Im surprised more people didn't pick the gatekeeper
he probably knows more about the ways than any moral (which is insanely dangerous)
he learned to use a carpet to fly around (which is insanely dangerous)
he somehow learned to use a time travel variant to predict the future (can be insanely dangerous)
he got recruited by the fey queens to guard the outer gates against spies and can do that better then any of the fey apparently
has saved the world at least a few times ( going off what he said at the outer gates in cold days)
has a very deep knowledge of and a history with demonreach
a long time senor council member who pretty much ignores the senior council.
seems to pop in just in the nick of time and provide just the nudge, eye goop, advice, or warning to let Dresden stop a disaster
and with all that he Probably is somehow over 1000 years old but still a mortal.
sure the godlike creatures can do this stuff but a regular wizard accomplishing all that
Edit because i screwed up the post

No, but Lara might come after me if she knew I'd read Thomas' or (esp.!) Lord Raith's, I might have a problem with the Mob and the FBI if it got out that I'd read Marcone's, the Senior Council might object to my reading Eb's, Margaret's, or McCoy's, for various reasons, and Kemmler might catch the Council's attention, too.
Just about everybody would probably have opinions about the original Merlin's books, including the Queens, and Rashid's might take me straight into Seventh Law violation.
Not saying I wouldn't read them, mind you, but I wouldn't necessarily want it known that I had read them.

I read Kemmlers book. I know how the darkhallow works and I know how to turn necromancy against the black court
Mavra will kill you.

Well, most of that goes back to the supernatural world likes it secrets. :)

They're pretty crappy at keeping a lot of them. Which, in my opinion, is a big shell game. They don't hide the big, distracting secrets—VAMPIRES ARE REAL AND PEOPLE CAN THROW FIREBALLS AND AIR TRAVEL IS A TOTAL WASTE IF YOU KNOW HOW TO GET TO THE NEVERNEVER—just so that people don't look for the real stuff, like why the Sidhe are physically unable to lie.
-
While it does place some limitation on mortal manipulation; I have no clue as to how that became a part of their nature.

Short version ... Kemmler was WARDEN before Harry. Rashid distracted DR while the rest of the council took Kemmler out the last time. That's why DR holds a grudge against Rashid.

It could be boring. Especially if he DIDN'T focus on the sex parts. I could totally see him doing that, thinking that the sex was the boring part of the story. He gets sex ALL the time, so it's not interesting to him.

Ah. I could see Kemmler as The Warden... but I personally have other idea's about what Rashid did to DR to so royally piss it off.

Do tell.

He would absolutely focus on the sex part. He bragged to Murphy about how he loved to conquer (sexually) the strong women he'd come across over his lifetime.

... He destroyed it... or destroys it, or is currently destroying it lol. Something Odin said about DR being unable to contemplate it's own end combined with what they were trying to do made me think It's already been destroyed once or will be in the future. It's intellectus would go nuts over Rashid for multiple reasons, one of which is GK might be an outsider role anyway.

We know Kemmler was taken down on Halloween; but, we have never learned where as far as I can remember.

He, as in Rashid, destroys DR?
And the Gate Keeper role is an outsiders role? I'm not following.

Was it Halloween? I'll have to look into that, because that would be very interesting.
IF he was the WARDEN, and on DR, there is no way the council could have taken him down. Not if he knew what being the WARDEN was all about, and I doubt Kemmler would have NOT known.

So does the natural one. You could end up just as dead for learning Marcone's various mundane secrets as for learning the inner secrets of the White Court. It's no safer walking around with a head full of information about military ciphers or where the Gambino's bury the bodies than it is to know Council secrets.
'Knowing too much' has always been a potential capitol crime.
-
I still thing I would take mundane torture over magical torture; just remembering what Mab did to Slate.

Imagine being locked up on Demonreach and Harry putting some annoying song on repeat for months on end.
-
Like 40 yr old virgin and Michael MacDonald.
-
OMG ... the Hokey Pokey on a loop ... UGH!!
-
For me, it would probably be Achy, Breaky Heart.
