Title: Missing Text
Post by: fivestyle on October 04, 2007, 08:18:37 PM
I noticed that the Banner on the home page has been changed. I don't know if it's just my computer but the text for the links to the differnet parts of the site are gone. There is just a white line in each box. It could be that the box is black and the text is black I'm not sure.

It's possible that you caught Fred in mid-update.  Try again now!

What she said.  Also, the site's stylesheet got redone, and if your computer is caching the stylesheet but reloading the page, it might not show the correct new appearance.

If all else fails, empty your browser cache and reload.

(But really, it's stopped being a moving target now.)

cool thanks. It's still doing the same thing but it's no big deal. I don't have access to do anything about it here at work.

Nah, the problem is that Internet Explorer is ignoring the stylesheet -- or somehow accessing an old one -- as I just reproduced this problem.  I'll see what i can do.

Mystery solved; Internet Explorer doesn't know how to respect "commenting out" lines in a stylesheet -- Mozilla Firefox does.

So I just deleted the commented-out lines.

Should look fine now.
