Is there a master list of Thaumaturgic/Ritual specialties out there somewhere?
-
I don't know of one. No such list could be comprehensive, anyway, since you can always invent another field.
Off the top of my head:
Divination
Conjuration
Summoning/Binding
Transformation/Disruption
Transportation/Worldwalking
Warding
Biomancy
Entropomancy
Psychomancy
Necromancy
Chronomancy
Pyromancy
Geomancy
Hydromancy
Aeromancy
Diabolism
Unseelie Magic
Seelie Magic
And then of course there's Crafting.

My thought was that we should compile a master list as people come up with them, especially for people bad at prefixes. I think we can through out the types or magic ones and just go with the themes.
Animism could probably go on the list too.

There's the sponsored magic master list, there's a lot of good stuff that you can probably use for focused practitioners as well.
Prefixes aren't really needed. Just come up with a theme in regular terms and if you feel the need to do so, you can always try to find the right prefix for it.
The problem I see with a list for this is that it would either be very short and therefore not needed, or it would encompass every little nuance, which would make it pretty bloated. Hell, you can take the dictionary and put -mancy at the end of each word, and you'll have new types of magic. I made a sartoriomancer once (magic done with clothes). ;D
