I'll let you know as soon as I get that information! Last year, I got the tour dates January 20th. I predict a similar schedule this year.

Def too used to facebook since my initial reaction was to look for how to "like" this update
-
Does this mean sample chapters are imminent?

I tink it minz it dun bin ritt.
-
Sample chapters will probably start going up the 9th of February. Not sure how many Jim wants to post this time. Four or five is typical for the Dresden series, but I also love the cliffhanger where chapter 6 leaves us. I'll poke Jim about his preferences in a couple weeks, when he's finished the revisions.

Ditto!

Hope to see Jim back in the Chicago area for a signing. Hopefully at the same Oakbrook Borders which is really close to my house and hosted the last two signings...including the midnight release of Turn Coat!
-
What a bizarre coincidence--the date I mean. If my little niece had lived, she would be 9 on that day. She was born with a severe heart abnormality--complications which caused many changes in all our lives--as did her passing.
Sorry, not meaning to be a downer. I just find the timing and name of the book somewhat eerie and ironic.
I think I might wait until that day passes before I buy the book.

Book Tour Kickoff Party on April 6th in Houston at Murder by the Book. Hurray!!

Book Tour Kickoff Party on April 6th in Houston at Murder by the Book. Hurray!!
Gawd... I can't do that during the week. I hope he does Austin or San Antonio. I can't do Dallas if he does that city. Too far like Houston.
*crosses fingers, eyes and toes*
-
Great catch, Stitch! I've emailed Jim's editor to see if she can give me any more dates and locations at this point.
-
Wow =( I'm incredibly sad now... Chicago was doable.. Houston is too far. Sad sad sad day!
-
I got the news from a Murder by the Book tweet. I often go to their book signings so I get their newsletter and follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
-
<< is bummed
Houston is probably doable for me, but won't be nearly as fun as Chicago.
Maybe there's a Chicago date later in the tour... I'd rather go to Chicago for a 'regular' signing than to Houston for a release day signing...

If I could do Houston... I would. But I live a good 3 hours away if not more and I'm not the kind of person who does well in a city like that on her own. Plus it's during the week when I have to work and my boss is a jerk about taking time off even if I can and everything's ok to do it. He's just that way. If it were Austin which is less than an hour away give or take, I can do that... or Sa where i live, I can do that. Easier to take a day off and not worry about getting lost if I'm in familiar territory than over in Houston

Thump, thump, thump, thump. Okay, nailed ya down.... :-) yeah, me too!

I think it's a testament to my bio dorkiness that my first thought upon hearing Austin, TX is "Oh! Congress Ave. Bridge, the world's largest urban bat colony!"
I'm still hoping Jim comes to the Mid-Atlantic. :D

Oh come on bookie, Houston isn't that bad. I am sure it would still be fun. ;D

I got to go see the bats once when my cousin was going to UT.
Sad thing is this poor woman with her baby in a carriage was on the wrong side and a bat fell into the carriage and then flew out and got into the woman's hair. She was screaming bloody murder. I would be too I guess. Someone was nice and helped her get it out of her hair.
But yeah... I can really logistically do Austin or San Antonio with the fact it's during the week and it's not too far from Finals. The university hates us taking holidays during the week if it's not necessary but I will take off for Austin if it's on a weekday. I'll do my darndest to get the day off to see JB and get my book signed. :D

If your hair is capable of entangling small mammals it may be time for a new hairstyle. :D

Well, it did happen in Texas...

I'm sure Houston would be fun... well, anywhere with a crowd of forum people would be fun. But really, you can't beat Chicago for a Dresden gathering... I mean, a group picture with Sue is worth the trip in and of itself ;D

Book Tour Kickoff Party on April 6th in Houston at Murder by the Book. Hurray!!
NOOO! dang it, the moment i go off to school Jim's is going to be in Houston. Houston is like 30 min from home. D: Missouri now...way far
-
...
Great. Houston is home, but I'm not going to be there on the 6th...
I've got school and it is a tuesday, so I'll be 3 hours away!
If only it was a weekend, I could show up!
-
Maybe someone else in the family can be there and at least get you a signed copy.

Yeah. I thought that too, but then I remembered I preordered my copy on amazon. It won't even be in until the 9th to the 13th.
*cries*
-

That's what I'm going to have to do too most likely.
-
i wish the books would be released at an increased frequency: with a total of 20 novels expected, I'd like to be able to insure that I'm still around at least for episode #20. I'd like to see how it all turns out. ;)

Sorry to bring you the bad news; Jim has stated publicly that he can't do more than 1 Dresden book per year, as he'd burn out on it fast. Hey, it bugs me, too, as I'm considerably past my biblically-allotted time's halfway point. :)
-
meh.
I'm pretty excited about this book. I'll probably read it, then forget about the series, then pick it up again in like 5 years.
It happened with the TV show too. I saw an advertizement in 2007, watched the first ep, lost interest, and revisited it in 2009! lol...my life. >_<
-
Does anyone know when the audio will be released?

It's slated for April 15th.
-
I get all excited seeing a new post from Priscellie...but it's still not a schedule.
*sniffles and shuffles off*
;)
-
A schedule for what?
-
The signing tour?
Some things were talked about for Chicago, we're pretty anxiously awaiting to see if there is even going to be a Chicago area signing...also, hey, it would be great if Jim came out to the SF Bay area so I could ply him with Vietnamese sandwiches. :)
-
I really hope that they have a canadian date for the tour to either Toronto, Montreal or Ottawa. We normally get left out of book tours but us canadians are huge fans!!!!! if not at least hopefully ill make it down to a US signing
:P
-
This afternoon Murder by the Book changed the April 6th Houston appearance from tentative. The Manager confirmed over the phone and said "Changes" could be purchased at the store that Tuesday.
-
All 5 of the New England fans are hoping for at least a Boston stop. But I think promises of Lobstah won't be enough... ;)
-
Two more appearances, this time in Seattle. http://www.signedpage.com/authors/butcher-changes.html
He'll be signing at The Signed Page, then at University Bookstore.
-
It's slated for April 15th.
Will it be available for digital download, or just on CD?
<shudders to think I'd have to wait until I get home the first week of May>
-
Any chance of a signing in the Mid-Atlantic?
-
I got a email from Mysterious Galaxy in San Diego that he is going to be there on April 9 in the evening!
David
-
*waits patiently until entire signing tour schedule is posted*
Thanks for all the updates so far, Priscellie.
-
any hope for anything in or neae Atlantic City? I really REALLY hate trying to go into either NYC or Philly for events...

Jim generally doesn't travel well, so his con visits tend to be placed for maximum exposure. Yeah, I know what you mean, but there it is.

Max exposure... San Antonio / Austin... especially the latter. ;)
-
hmmm, i think i like the san antonio option. only a few hours away. that i could do.

I prefer it as i live there but I'd be willing to take a day and go to Austin if I had to. I have a gps so I won't get as lost as I used to. ;) I can't go anywhere else if it's a weekday and april is close to finals so they hate for staff to take off :(
-
i live in midland, so i think san antonios closer. idk. never been to a book signing or Con. before. i think itd be fun.

My only experience with meeting famous people has been meeting Jim Fowler of Mutual of Omaha's wild kingdom fame at an aquarium I worked at... Jim Brickman concerts... and a jazz musician I like named SlimMan. I did go to a local ST con once... it was ok. I saw Marina Sirtis there speaking... and I did get Dave Barry's autograph locally once... he's funny and nice. And I think that's it. *whew*
If Jim comes to Austin I will take the day off and so be there for the signing... no ifs ands or buts!

Midland might be closer to San Antonio, but it might be a bit more equidistant. I know San Angelo is about equidistant to both San Antonio and Austin. Takes about 3 hours to get to either.
-
haha so this is how you kno...... :D :D :D
-
Yup, and also how I know Midland's not the middle of nowhere. From San Angelo, you have to drive at least an hour to get to any interstate, and then at least another 2 hours to get to any of the cities. Except for Midland/Odessa. That's only about an extra hour from the interstate.
-
yea it takes like an hour and a half to get to san angelo from here, 2 and a half to lubbock, 4 -5 to FW, 5? i think to san antonio, 8 to houston, 6 to Corpus. like 6 to austin too. i think..... but id try fro Dallas/FW, san antonio. i hate driving through austin, i hate the city itself. used to live there. ugh. *shivers* yea.....
-
Insert vote for Austin!
I'm living there right now, so....it would be nice.
-
The folks making the itinerary decisions are not reading this thread, guys. :D

Awww... make them Pris... Pleeeeease? Print these out and let them see what the masses want. ;)
-

-

I know Jim is game, but nothing is official at present. I should be able to make an announcement before too long.
