Title: I just created my account and have a question
Post by: Abeille on August 28, 2009, 01:23:59 AM
Next to everyone's user name, there is a name of a certain type of being (mortal, wizard, ect.) What does that represent?

Thank you for reading (and hopefully responding to) my post.

It has to do with post count and member status.

1 star, Mortal - Member with <10 posts
1 star, Apprentice - Member with <100 posts
2 stars, Wizard - Member with 100+ posts
4 stars, White Council - Moderator (Mickey and Ashton)
5 stars - Administrator (Me = Gatekeeper, Fred = The Merlin)

The number in the middle? That's saved for the Middleman!

3 stars is for board-specific moderators, I *think*, but honestly it's a very cosmetic, mostly irrelevant thing. Don't overthink it. :)

*sniff*

It's the 21st century, people.    Leveling is a right, not a privilege.  ;)

Well, SharonBrown and rdonoghue are both apprentices, and they are the only board-specific moderators that I am aware of.

I know it's mostly cosmetic, but I think it would be nice to have a higher-level for regular posters who have either been here a long time of have thousands of posts. It's a mite easy to get to wizard, and it would be a little thank you to the people who are regulars in the community.

Can you change it so the number of stars goes to 11?

:-)

Fwiw, I was actually being facetious in my post above on leveling up.

I don't think I would support a visible distinction among nominal equals, not without visible responsibility to go with it.

Priscelle, you forgot Jim and Shannon on the white council also
Has Jim ever banned anyone?  Would be a bit of an honor.
and I never noticed that you were 5 stars

When you are at the correct board look at the top of the list, on the right.  Up there you'll see a tab that says new topic, click that and then just fill in the blanks. :)
