Title: Topic Lists?
Post by: Shiggy on November 08, 2006, 04:02:47 AM
I don't know if this would be a waste of time, but I was wondering if it would be a good idea to have a sticky thread in at least the Spoilers forums, and in that sticky post subjects with several established threads could be listed with the links to each thread.  The hope to be to cut down on all the repeat threads we're getting.

I would be willing to take on this task, if anyone decides that it's a good idea.

Also, if someone would prefer I explain my idea further and in a less confusing manner, let me know. :)

I think that's a great idea.  It'll also help the newbies get oriented!  I don't see a downside.

That's kinda what I was thinking, after a bunch of people jumped on a newbie over in the Dresden Spoilers section.  And I'm willing to do it, but I can't sticky anything.

Oh, I'll sticky any thread like that on each board you want to do it on, just PM me.

As I don't think I have anything else planned for tomorrow, I'll start it then.  And I'll start at the top and work my way down.  So Dresden Books is up first.

I'm all about organized chaos. :D

I keep looking at the Spoilers section, and that it's 11 pages instead of 6...and I wonder what I got myself into.

ETA So I skipped it and did TV Series!

*headdesk*  I was 5 pages and 2 hours into the Topic List for Dresden Spoilers when I hit the wrong button and closed that tab in Firefox.

Pardon me while I go do my Sylvia Plath impression.

*removes head from oven long enough to respond*

Yeah, I just kinda sat there with my jaw open for a minute in disbelief.  Then I frantically searched for temp internet files on my pc.  No luck.  So I'll have to start over from scratch.

The new Firefox has a "Restore Tab You Just Closed, Like An Idiot" feature.  Just hit Ctrl+Shift+T.

Y'know, for future reference. :D

Anyway, BRAVO on the superb work on the topic lists!  That's dedication!

Hrm.  I'll have to see if that works.  Or maybe I should just turn on the feature of 'warn me when closing multiple tabs' thing that I turned off.

Oh, I'm far too much of a klutz to ever consider turning that feature off.  I don't want to think about how much work I would have lost over the years if I didn't have that feature in place.

Well there are a lot of times I'll have two tabs open all the time, and when I go to close firefox at the end of the night, it would keep popping up asking me if I wanted to close them both, and it was driving me insane.  So I turned it off.

As many have probably noticed, I've pretty much given up on the Topic Lists.  Does anyone want to help me?  Or do we think they really don't do any good and I should just take them down?
