DFRPG / Chronomancy attacks
« on: July 06, 2012, 01:09:07 AM »
Are there any better mechanics for pushing someone out of the timestream (for eventual retrieval or until they fall back in, down stream) than a thaumaturgical attack with a duration tacked on? Intended experience is infinitesimal elapsed time experienced by the target(s) and the target(s) fading out existence as far as the intervening time is concerned (unless the spell in cancelled early).

DFRPG / Multi Purpose Enchanted Items
« on: May 10, 2012, 05:48:58 PM »
Is there anything detailing what the requirements for creating multi purpose enchanted items (as exemplified by the warden swords) are? That is, 2 slots, lore 5 and a crafting power specialty, gets you to the power 6 effects and 3 uses per session. The weapon rating 3 is probably just the base for these, master crafted, swords. But what lets you put select able effects using one pool of charges? You could get a similar result by raw by adding in a crafting uses foci +2, but then you would have 3 uses of each of the two effects. Did the rules change between the writeup of the swords and final publishing or am I missing something still in the books?

DFRPG / Skill categories
« on: January 23, 2012, 06:43:04 AM »
This is driving me a bit nuts, I see skills referred to by categories in several places, most importantly on page 174 under Skill Shuffle, but I can't find anywhere that is clear on which skills are in which categories, or even, which categories exist. On 174 we have:
Social
Knowledge
Physical
Perception
But there are several skills that seem to have mixed aspects (craftmanship, survival, weapons) and some that don't seem to fit under any of those (conviction, discipline, while they are mental they definitely aren't knowledge). Mostly this doesn't matter for Beast Change (though someone being more comfortable and focused as wolf, thus having a higher conviction or discipline doesn't seem unreasonable), but if a full up True Shapeshifter duplicates the well honed body of a master fencer, while they definitely don't get the weapon knowledge, should they be able to duplicate the other trappings?

I really hope I've missed a sidebar somewhere, but failing that, opinions, thoughts and other references would be greatly appreciated.
