I used "A Monster with a purpose", "Smiling Certainty", "I am the big bad".

Here is anime Giant just for fun.

High Concept: Man Eating Giant
Trouble Aspect: Always Hungry
Other Aspects: Mindless, 50ft Tall Terror, Ignores Animals, Neck Weakness, Mysterious Origins

Skills:
Superb: Fists, Might
Great: Athletics, Endurance
Good: Alertness, Intimidation
Fair:
Average:

Powers:
Mindless [-0]
Mythic Strength [-6]
Titanic Size [-4] (50 ft Height)
Potent Natural Weapon [-2] Gaping Jaw
Immunity to all physical stress with a moderate weakness (a spot in the centre of the neck about 2 meters across) [12]

Total Refresh Cost:
-20
Refresh Total:
-10

I am not sure that immunity shouldn't cost more as reaching or shooting a spot in the centre of a 50ft giants neck is going to require an incredibly amount of positioning without the aid of wings, teleport etc.

It was never very well thought out, it was meant to be a sword of Damocles curse so you do a certain amount of stress and then you can choose when the stress actually comes into effect. So you slash someone with your sword mysteriously causing no harm until maybe a day or so later when a wound mysteriously opens and they bleed out more thematic than useful.

The list seems pretty good, its nice to see all of the stuff in one place, I was a bit sad to see tracing in the maybe list after how long it was floating about, but it alway was a very problematic power in terms of costing.

An Aspect would probably do maybe with a spirit maneuver or a thaumaturgical one.

If were doing type moon powers we really should do Nero Chaos, obviously psychical immunity with a catch of conceptual weapon (only Swords of the Cross in the Dresden Verse). But how would you stat a man made up of monsters that could leap in and out of him at will.  Multiple creatures with PI or one creature using a weird array of powers.

DFRPG / Re: The Doctor and the TARDIS, how to stat?
« on: February 12, 2013, 11:44:36 PM »
Being totally indestructible and healing from damage that's somehow inflicted anyway is part of the basic IoP package.

Does standing in it actually make you indestructible or does it just put an indestructible thing between you and the outside world? If the latter, IoP includes that too.

As for why to stat it, because if you're actually going to use the Doctor in a game he needs to pay for the abilities he has.

The TARDIS is not part of the DFRPG's basic premise.

I'm gonna be honest, this whole plot device thing always kinda makes me groan. It's as if people are so impressed by something fictional that they want it to be awesome in a way that mere mortals cannot quantify. Even if it clearly isn't.

See the problem is scale DFRPG is not scaled for space opera's which Doctor Who is one of. Mythic Speed is 0.1x(to the power off) 1,000,000 the speed of a tardis.  So should the Tardis cost 10 to the millionth power refresh ?

It like asking exactly how many shift of damage the death star blast is doing (and to how many zones)?

How much refresh is the ability to travel faster than speed of light worth, how much refresh is the ability to change time worth, how much refresh are shields that can with stand the force of an exploding planet worth (ok some times it can some times it can't), how much refresh would you charge for something that can phase through nearly anything. If you can figure that out then you can stat a tardis.

Here is the changes I would make to Unlimited Blade Works which would include the powers sponsor (Alya) and agenda from the visual novel.

Reality Marble (Unlimited Blade Works) [-4]
Description: With the help of a powerful force you can project your soul upon the world.
Sponsor: Alya /Gaia/ the World Spirit
Agenda: This power is sponsored by the World Spirit in exchange for an Eternity as a spiritual guard dog after death. It's agenda is the protection of the world as a whole no matter the cost on an individual level.

DFRPG / Re: How would you represent a "Good Bob" v "Evil Bob" Power?

Good Bob and Evil Bob are too separate characters with two different power sets.

Wait a second... I thought Recovery affected only physical consequences, and spellcasting is mental? Or can you actually take physical consequences (instead of mental stress/consequences) to fuel spellcasting?

Fallout.

DFRPG / Re: Coming to Terms With Summoning and Binding
« on: January 23, 2013, 10:50:08 AM »
I really like the 3 part ritual summoning as well (warding, summoning and binding) but it only works if you ensure that bound spirits are npc's in that they are characters with agenda besides that of the player party. Mind you summoning in Dresden verse seems to be of a massive force multiplier both binder and Victor summoned things which in aggregate where much more powerful than them, so allowing dresden verse summoning as portrayed in the novels should be unbalancing (similar in many ways to exalted power house summoning).

TRANSCENDENT SWORDSMANSHIP [-4]
Description: Legends speak of heroes who fought dragons with nothing but sword and mail. These heroes fought creatures with nearly endless power and some of them actually won. Transcendent Swordsmanship channels the power of the heroes of old and uses it to do the impossible with swords.
Sponsor: Transcendent Swordsmanship is sponsored by the spirits, or perhaps the legends, of long-dead heroes.
Agenda: Transcendent Swordsmanship drives its user to destroy evil and to prove his own worth as a hero.
Evocation: Evocations cast with Transcendent Swordsmanship often resemble air or metal evocations, and they almost always emulate sword techniques.
Thaumaturgy: Transcendent Swordsmanship allows its user to cast rituals that tap into the legends of dead heroes, as well as rituals that summon spiritual warriors.
Evothaum: Transcendent Swordsmanship does not grant the ability to use Thaumaturgy with the speed and methods of Evocation.
Extra Benefits: A character with Transcendent Swordsmanship replaces his Conviction skill with his Might skill and his Discipline skill with his Weapons skill for the purposes of spellcasting.
Note: Foci made to boost Transcendent Swordsmanship spells are almost always swords. That being said, there's nothing stopping Transcendent Swordsmanship from becoming Transcendent Axemanship in the hands of a specific character.

From the Sponsored Power Master list.

DFRPG / Monster Stats Help
« on: January 19, 2013, 11:37:23 PM »
I need some stats for a shadow lord and his shadow servants to challenge a fairly optimized party of 4 chest deep players (a focused practitioner with 10 effective discipline being the most dangerous) they will have to fight there way up a tower of slum accommodation (filled with victims and horror) fighting the shadow servants of the boss waiting on the roof.  The servants should be really easy to kill (no consequences, toughness) but also dangerous enough to sap the party before their fight as well as numerous and faceless the shadow master at the top should be able to hold his own or even win if the players play it badly.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would welcome your input.

Assuming your going focused practitioner in a comparatively high refresh game (plenty of refresh) going 5 lore is better than 5 lore and discipline because it can be both.
