The reason for the Ambush catch was due to the inspiration of the character, he was inspired by a character called Hisoka (think a psychotic trolling version of Gambit) from a manga called hunter x hunter. The character Hisoka never lost a fight other than when he was ambushed, so that is where I got the catch from. When I figure out how to get back into my old account I will change the grammatical errors, by the way do you know how to get in contact with the adminstrator of the site?

I'd recommend amending Spiritual Weapon to remove the weapon rating when the scythe is used to deal mental stress
Mental stress is generally considered a more powerful form of attack than physical stress, as it is less commonly resisted (there's no [X] Toughness / Recovery for mental stress and consequences, for instance)


I thought about making spiritual weapon a -1 refresh power and removing the weapons rating but thought that for a reapers scythe a 0 weapons rating attack was just not lethal enough. So I decided that for a -2 refresh keeping the weapons rating of the spiritual weapon would not be too broken as long as the strength powers do not affect the mental attack of the scythe.

These where powers I was thinking about for a reapers scythe for a scion of Death (disc world style)  

-2 Immaterial Edge (+2 weapons rating, this blade ignores the first 2 points of armour and also counts as the catch for ghosts and other disembodied spirits.)

-0 Manifested Blade (As the blade is not truly of the mortal world keeping it in this world requires mental effort, summoning the item for a scene requires a point of mental stress at the end of the scene unless another point of stress is taken the item will disappear until summoned again.)

-2 Spiritual Weapon ( As a weapon designed to sever the soul from the body its blows do more than physical harm, the blade can cause mental stress instead physical stress, anyone taken out this way will die as their soul is separated from their body leaving no signs of physical harm.)

The last power is more questionable, I didn't know how to properly model spiritual damage done to someone’s core being other than through mental stress.

DFRPG / Limits on Hulking Size

The Hulking Size power says the max height of a person with the power is the size of a house, I was wondering what people thought the minimum height for hulking size is. Could a 7ft beefcake of a man (say a troll changeling) take the power or is the power limited to creatures who are bigger than even the tallest humans.

1. Instant Shelter (House made of rocks)

2. Have the earth become like a mouth of stone and attempt to cut someone in half like a guillotine from the bottom up.

3. Mass Impalement Field otherwise known as 'ground spike death'

4. Magnetic Barrier for bullets

5. Change the texture of the earth so it is super-slippery like glass

6. Earth Tremor Location (finding out enemies numbers and sizes via footstep vibrations on the earth)

I could see one potential problem with area of effect manoeuvres which is the possibility of multiple tagging. I am pretty certain there must be a rule somewhere in the core book forbidding this but say you caused eight enemies to have the temporary aspect 'stunned' then you might be able to tag all of the eight enemies free 'stunned' tags in your next area of effect spell to gain a +16.

The player decided in the end to invest his ill gotten loot into the mercenary company (which the party is a part off). The gm decided that this meant that the firm's resources increased from +2 too +4 so that the whole party gained the benefit of his betrayal and as his personal weath was not affected so he did not have to reshape his skill tree.

As the character is a supernatural mercenary with good +3 connections the best options for him would be either the temporary windfall stunt, though I suppose he could buy one really excessive purchase like a James Bond Car or a stinger missile launcher with assorted rockets (if the GM is willing).

I was wondering how people modelled a sudden large boost in income in terms of the resources skill. In a game I am in a person was paid $2 million dollars for letting somebody escape.  There is no reason why this massive windfall would lower his other skills so this means he can't raise resources without breaking the pyramid structure so how else could such a windfall be modelled in game?

I think forensic accounting would probably be under investigation as you are investigating a money trail, I don't think you would need a stunt for it.
