i prefer books to e-books.

I prefer netbook to ebook readers/tablets. at least, you can read on netbooks, and tap away when you need to do something. very, very handy for students. (although, lesson learned, you cannot survive on a netbook alone. Make sure you have backups for everything and have a relly nice desktop to work on huge things. Since I don't (well, not yet, anyway), I'm currently living on my netbook. These things are so handy though, especially mine - i mean, i can use Photoshop on this small thing, can you believe it? O.o)

anyway, netbooks are awesome because it's easier to write in them, and you can still read e-books great. especially if your netbook is just the right size for you. :D

personally I'm fascinated by the verification boxes where you need to add numbers. :D

but I dunno if they're effective.

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. :D

tell me about it.  ;D

updated, edited, not necessarily nominating for a sticky (seeing as the thread isn't dead or at the risk of purging) but I thought you oughta know: (Fan)Ships that sail

(2 cents for OP tho it's from way back, but whatever)

I just assumed he moved back for the threshold. maybe he knows something's up and all.

(ftr: haven't finished reading the rest of the posts)

at the risk of cluttering this thread with fanshipping and reminding the boys that girls actually exist ( :P , haha), I think I might just start a redux of that shipping thread... at some point. soon. I'll list down all known shipping for DF, from the most "vile" to the most popular.... and add to them as time goes on. :D

so this really isn't used much around the boards due to lack of... well, fangirls and fanshippers, but idk, I thought it may be helpful too? It's helpful around fanfictions for the most part, anyway.

Hari-Kari: Harry/Murphy Shipping, as coined by Priscellie :D
"Pink Court": Thomas/Susan
"The Spanish Inquisition"/Marlos: Molly/Carlos
Drolly: Harry/Molly

(mostly grabbed from Priscellie/this thread here: http://www.jimbutcheronline.com/bb/index.php/topic,20073.15.html)
...that's about it, the current 'known' nicknames for these fanshippings, mockery or not. Someone may shoot me, but I ship... ships, so yeah. xD

No matter what... I will always vote Matt Bomer for Thomas.

I know he fits because when I first picked up Changes and read the scene where Thomas shows up for the first time, I just about squeed cause my mental imagery showed me Matt Bomer walking out dressed in the character desc. It was like the perfect scene and very vivid. It just clicked. I had to stop reading long enough to just soak it in. I tend to read books and it's like I"m watching tv. I see it all so vividly and Matt just fit.

this. so much.

Calendar Event Discussion / Re: Jim's 2011 Signing Tour (CONFIRMED!)

Hehe.  I actually live in a town about 30ish miles SW of Naperville, but I used to work up that way and still see friends there from time to time.  Quite a bit to do in what is commonly referred to as Chicagoland.  Heck, they even call the speedway used for Nascar the Chicagoland Speedway even though it is technically about 30-40 miles outside of Chicago city limits in the city of Joliet.

heh, I kinda meant a little more general... there. like, in that general area. like, in that country. T.T
