OK, rant complete.  I feel better.  To be fair, it may just be my copy (its SK) thats not refined, since at one point Marsters also screws up a line, drops the f-bomb, and then backs up and does it over.  Weird huh?.

HAH. I wanna hear that. xD

I think I'm in the minority but the little I've heard of James Marsters, the less I like him voice actor wise. Mostly why I don't have the audio books yet. I heard a tad of the books online as a sample and was not impressed. I would prefer that Paul Blackthorne had read them or maybe even the guy that does Angel. I like his voice better. JM's voice just annoys the heck out of me maybe cause I didn't like him as Spike and he's not what I would call my favorite actor. *shrugs* But everyone has their own preferences.

I liked him as Spike. xD

Yeah. I like Paul Blackthorne's American accent. he did okay in the tv shows - so whenever I read DF, I always hear his voice in my head. I listened to samples, yeah, and I'm not fond of James's American accent.

When I read it, I was between Mar-cone and Mar-con-e - but I weirdly settled with Mar-con-e...

Hm, James Masters... I weirdly like Paul Blackthorne better as Harry - the tv show's fault - but... Hm. James... James.. I listened to the audio book - a part of it, anyway, but it's still Paul in my head, lol...

OOooh. I really want to read that. I wonder if it will have anything to do with the girl waking up. That would be a good story. Hard situation, though. Would someone who's been in a coma since they were 4, even have their brain develope normally as most adults would have?

she'll probably have a serious case of brain damage, I think. Isn't it that some people who slips into a coma wakes up with damaged brains?

or maybe she'll go The Dead Zone on everyone and would know the future/past with a touch of a hand!

in any case, if it's the girl, it would interesting. xD well, anything about Marcone would be interesting. xD

hm, speaking of which, how do you pronounce Marcone? like, Mar-cone? or Mar-con-e?

Dont dismiss it too quickly.  Its just s side thing, not (as of yet) central to the story in any way.  But it is cool to see things, especially harry himself, from somebody else's perspective.  Not to mention a bit more understanding of the Hunger.

And I hear rumor that there is a short from Marcone's POV on deck...

Thomas's POV wasn't too different from Harry's. It was entertaining - don't knock it till you try it and all that, right? And... what Quantus said. haha.

Oooooh there is? That would be interesting, if the rumors were true. Marcone is an interesting character. Not as much as Harry and Thomas, but.. yeah.

It would also be interesting to hear something from Michael.

Uhhh...wasn't the show only 1 season, or am I missing something? It's too bad...because while I thought the show got off to a rocky start, it was getting pretty good by the end of the season.  I'll give a sci-fi/fantasy show one year of leeway, since most Star Trek shows started out pretty bad - I mean DS9's first season was pretty horrendous but it ended up being my favorite trek show.

But I had read the books long before the show. Was definitely disappointed by the very limited use of magic in the first episodes of the show, and the hockey stick. Ugh.

Yes, only one season. It was getting really good though.

The only thing I was disappointed about (I watched the tv show first, read the books, then re-watched it again) was the not-so-much magic part and the magic part not closer to the books - I mean, it wouldn't kill for TVHarry to yell "Fuego" every now and then and stuff like that... but that's about it. I rather enjoyed the tv show.
I didn't mind the hockey stick - I thought it was cool. xD

Author Craft / Re: Author In Progress
« on: December 08, 2009, 05:55:54 PM »
So hi, I'm Jaeh....er, so I'm a college student living in the Philippines hoping to publish a novel-in-progress if its... you know, publishable. If not, I'd live with it. If I get around to actually finding a place to publish it and get it around in this country, I would be really, really happy. And if gets published, I doubt almost anyone here would get to see it, lol.

It sounds really juvenile-ish, and would probably end up as a young adult book if it goes down that road (I still have to fix stuff, if that happens, haha), but the novel is about some author who got sucked into her own book. It sounds so... fanfictiony, but the "twist" with this one is she doesn't know hat's happen in her own book and.. stuff. So... yeah. I just hope it would work out. :D

School work killed my nano (its my first year - of nano, I mean) and so I didn't get to finish. I'm going to try again next year. I still do want to finish what I started though, and do some extensive editing. Then attempt to publish it somewhere. or distribute it to friends to have them read.

Lurker comments:

I enjoyed it, and once I knew it had books, I sped off to look for some. Shame it got killed.

Books are way, way better! I just borrow them though. I want my own copies, but they don't sell it in my country, last time I checked a bookstore. Maybe I should check other bookstores... (why oh why...)
