And on re-reading Dead Beat again I think Harry meant that Cowl used kinetic energy which is still odd because force magic is his other evocation specialty.

A poster in the DF Books forum mentioned meeting James Marsters at Megacon (Orlando) last week, and that reminded me of my research of Orlando cons, so when someone tweeted in Jim's feed today, "come to a Con in Florida" I piped in and mentioned MegaCon
