Title: 6 word stories
Post by: Dom on October 26, 2006, 06:54:27 PM
So, I saw an article on 6 word stories on slashdot (http://games.slashdot.org/games/06/10/25/2214254.shtml).  I was reading the comments, trying to see if anyone had any good ones, and it struck me...although the authors in the Wired article managed to make 6 word stories, very few of the people responding to the article did.  I saw a lot of opening lines, and phrases, but very few "6 word stories".

What do you guys think?

Shortest story I ever read was by Larry Niven, in an anthology of his.  It was entitled "Unfinished Story #2"" I think.  The text of it, according to my best recollection, is as follows:

"There are some things Man was not meant to know."

Huh, I recall seeing this in Neil Gaiman's blog not too long ago.  Should have investigated it earlier now that I look at it.  Lots of these are amusing.

The cannons made my ears bleed.

I thought of these in the last few minutes. One of these days I will actually write something.

6-word SF story ?

"The sun rose in the west."

[ It would not surprise me at all if that's already been thought of, but it just came to me independently. ]
