Display Case / Re: Perfect Casting, part 2
« on: February 17, 2012, 06:22:13 PM »
Not sure if anyone has cast her yet, but I think Tricia Helfer as Lara would be Perfect.

True, the woman just radiates sex appeal.  She could probably pull off Lara quite well.

Plus, why would Lash want Dresden suicidal?

I thought there used to be a thread for reporting this sort of thing so it could be passed along to those whom it would concern, but I couldn't find it.  [SNIPPED]

Thanks!  For future reference, just PM stuff like this to me or one of the other mods.  I'd rather these links not be posted publicly.  The "report" function is only used to bring existing threads to the attention of the mods.

Darkest Hours / Re: Spiderman was never my favorite superhero

Jim's take on Spidey is one of the best I've ever read.  He respected the character's roots, borrowed from established cannon, and kept it FUN.  Spidey and Rhino in the apartment having tea remains one of the most awesome scenes I've ever read.  Far too many writers seem to think Spidey needs to spend 50% of his time moping about how hard his life and how guilty he feels over X event be it recent or ancient history and it ends up depressing.  I don't want emo spidey, emo spidey bad.

She has some theories and her theories make sense and rely on some good observations (the convenient timing of a headache to make Harry forget about using Mouse to find Thomas for one). What's wrong with Ms Duck like theories?

You could be spouting random theories with nothing supporting them, then you'ld be a crackpot.
Oh I don't deny her theories are well thought out and possibly quite insightful and in general I am a big fan of our good Ms Duck.  But her theories make my head hurt...  Especially ones like Mab/Molly and the million year itch.

What's wrong with nutty theories? :)
Heh, I try to keep from spinning down into Ms Duck level theories. :D

Ah, I hadn't seen that particular bit being tossed around yet.  I've just recently come back to the boards after forcing myself to refrain for a while.  Otherwise if I'm here the whole time between books I start getting into nuttier and nuttier theories.

Ooooh... Here's a thought could the Fallen that whispered to Harry have been a scorned Lasciel?

Having thought on it I think that I should have posted this thread:

in the advice forum.  Could it be moved there?

Calendar Event Discussion / Re: Jim's 2011 Schedule
« on: May 11, 2011, 06:15:03 PM »
Now let's not start comparing, or I'll have to tell you how my driving out to Columbia MO from NJ was MORE gas. ;D It's all relative - if you're cash-strapped, a few extra hours' driving IS a lot of gas.
Exactly.  I live very check to check so it would be a big deal for me to have to go to the other side of the state.  Anyone who can go the kind of distance you guys have for it has my respect that must have taken a hell of a lot of foresight.

Calendar Event Discussion / Re: Jim's 2011 Schedule
« on: May 11, 2011, 01:41:02 PM »
As it's part of the "tour," I'm not posting it until I have the full tour list.  I assumed at the time that the full tour list would be forthcoming shortly after that one signing notice slipped out, but that wasn't the case. :D
Ah. OK, that makes more sense now.  I hope they'll be releasing the full schedule soon.  It's getting to be that time of year if Jim's not coming to St Louis I need to start saving for a trip to KC.  That is a lot of gas. >.<
