DFRPG / Re: Looking for pratical help stating Svartalfvar
« on: September 19, 2017, 07:00:22 AM »
I know this one in cold days it said that Svartalf's are both a race and an independent nation reconized by the accords. They are increadably powerful crafters whom are able to create mana static proof tech and potent enchantments on many things like electrics and automobiles and wards on all of it to boot. Further I myself have played in a 3 year campaign as an svartalf scion artificer who could build golems and enchantments on most kinds of stuff and fix anything. So in closing they are not fairies so they have no weakness to cold iron, and are fiercly independent and believe in Equivalent Exchange, I would start with ritual crafting then move on to thaumaturgy and perhaps take alternate magical paradigm which allows you to select different skills for Magic and then if you want simple go for option slots nothing sounds more fun than a good ol caster gun shooting "spell bullets".

Here is a little bit of info on him, he is a string instrument player mainly, spent a lot of life as a starving artist and occasionally a homeless busker working day to day just to survive. His skills drasticly increased one summer when he meet a mysterious old man in a river playing a fiddle with inhuman skill, the old man asked for food so bard made a meal with all he had for the both of them, the fossgrim taught him how to play better then anyone in one afternoon l, since then he stop a show with pure skill, he is also a metal head do he can even bring down the roof so to speak, he also doesn't mind stealing bread from the mouths of decadence. Hope this helps thank you

Me and my companions have been playing a campaign for the better part of a year  so far we all have no powers, but, I have a new player that wishes to be a Bard and I have no idea how to stat that out, so far we are all pure mortal and are about to start gaining power through various means. My friend has an idea of his background, which is as follows. He is a grifter and the Busker a traveling musician who earns his keep using music earn his keep, so far he's able to influence other's emotions by simple Mastery of his art, I was wondering if you could help me put that to paper we all have 8 refresh and 24 skill points with a cap of good, please help me our game is set for this sunday. I thank you all for your time.

Perhaps you do not know about thresholds, let me explain why living in an apartment or hotels would be a bad idea, basicly if you live in a place and not a Home you have no threshold which means no wards and are an easy target for home invasion from supernatural entitys.

Firstly WOW!
Secondly the armor rating has a durability stress track
that is damaged as you are, when it's durability degrades so does the benifits it gives.
Thirdly the hunger&physical stress of the armor does not refreash without an advanced mech bay, and an unobtabium power cell which is a big resource roll think of it like this, it is far more difficult to afford then three Fighter jets.
Forthly i adore that party group concept i also have a thought along similar lines how about a group sheet that's along the same vein as the city sheet.. another layer to the world if you will that includes goals of both your party and notes on developments in your organization and personal life... like a Fate map.

I am glad for help from the community and let me know your thoghts on the armor lore and Fate map outlook!!!

Once again thank you for your time and insight.

Those are fine examples of power armor, I was particularly interesteted in the temporary power rule for my idea, the type of armor i am working towards.

I have a more refined idea on how it can work.
Firstly the armor rating comes with its own stress track , the higher the stress the lower the armor rating.
Secondly it has a fuel point stress track, both limiting its use and adding difficulty to consistently use, similar to how fusion cores work in Fallout 4, based on our fake sci-fi feul unobtainium.
Thirdly it's still tech so hexing works unfortunately as does the possibility of somebody hacking into it...
Finally this armor is more of a group item due to the fact they're only being one or two true combat pcs and our story lends well to this sort of thing.

I am still wanting more insight and opinions!! Thank You for your time.

Me and my group are running a sci-fi themed campaign,
my question is how would you handle power armor in
your game?I had an idea for balance, a limited power
sourse similar to fusion cores from fallout 4 which would make it so you have limited number of actions per session, also a seprate "stress" track that relates to the benefits of armor rating and actions as a whole.
you can see my difficulty stating it out, I figure a mortal stunt or multipule.... let me know if you also like the idea for your games as well!!

Thank you for stating that out, what would also be cool is doing Batman's rogue gallery i would particularly like scarecrow and the riddler.

I like the way you did that item, i went with the Necronomicon myself last year, it was not best scenario mind you, but all in all a rather terrifying encounter.

I think a session where your group got sent to jail then a riot beaks out, could lead to a good ole shanking.

I love ghost stories, personally they always provoked thoughts as to how it would to be a ghost, i think it would be fun to do a cursed item game, one where somebody under its influence who needs to be separated form it.

Time travel is always a neat story mechanic, i am a fan of the old zombie hoard survival scenario, perhaps a bunch of uppity necromancers have rolled into town. I think it would be fun for high refresh PCs to fight a forgotten god who is trying to make a comeback.

Haunted houses are a staple best not to forget the classics after all ;7

thank you for your thoughts dragoonbuster please feel free to share more.

DFRPG / Halloween sessions
« on: October 05, 2015, 03:39:13 AM »
I for one cannot wait for Halloween both in game and out.

The purpose of this post is to share ideas for Halloween sessions that would go great for a nice
Paranet paper type scenario that could be fun for all.

My first thought would be a horror movie type feel but others may adopt a more Sinister route.
all ideas are welcome and encouraged.

I will periodically post about my thoughts and ideas.
