The one I clicked had their location listed as Mauritius.  Maybe they're the last of the dodos.

:o I didn't know he was in DC in July.  Then again, I was lost in the woods in a tent somewhere in July, so, I guess it's a non-issue.  :D

I tried them once - they were not stellar.

See, I'm a pancake purist.  Just plain 'cakes, with lots of butter and syrup...

And grits?  I just assume - Kentucky and all.  :P

I use Photobucket to post mine, and the site provides a link specifically to insert into forums.

I've been eyeing up that WV appearance.  :D  It's about 6.5 hours from me.

They also list a "Public Author Signing" on the last day.  Does it mean someone could attend just that and not the whole event?  The website is a bit vague on how everything works.

I thought it looked like fewer, too.  I kept hoping a couple more would get tacked onto the end.  :D

If it were Austin which is less than an hour away give or take, I can do that

I think it's a testament to my bio dorkiness that my first thought upon hearing Austin, TX is "Oh! Congress Ave. Bridge, the world's largest urban bat colony!"

I'm still hoping Jim comes to the Mid-Atlantic.  :D

I'm usually not very vocal in Spoilers unless a topic comes up where I think I have something of substance to say.  When I do, I've never been put off from saying it.  I will say that I sometimes find the parsing/dissecting of posts a bit hard to keep up with.  It kind of creates a situation where there are multiple conversations on different subjects going on at the same time, which can be hard to follow.  I don't find it unwelcoming, though, just a bit daunting at times.  But I usually have no problem picking out a point or two I'd like to address and commenting on that.

I like some of the speculating myself.  It can be fun.  It can also become decidedly un-fun when it devolves into standing on either side of a window and arguing whether it faces in or out.  I don't think that that is something the mods can do anything about, it's just up to people to be the one to step back and move on.  There comes a point at which you have to realize that no matter how much text evidence you think you have that says Lara Wraith wears ecru panties, you're no more right or wrong than the guy thinks they're eggshell.  That's the only real problem I see cropping up in Spoilers.  I don't think anyone is trying to be inflammatory or rude.  But remember, it's just fiction.  No matter if we disagree on a point, we're all here because we enjoy a great author.  Know when to agree to disagree, shake hands, and find a new topic.  (Besides, anyone with half a brain knows Lara wears ivory panties).

I'm getting close to my third year hear and I think all my PMs are still there.  There are three pages of them.  I don't PM a lot, though.  (I've sent PMs but there's nothing in my outbox)

I don't have any real problems with the Spoilers section myself.  A few threads get out of hand or become difficult to post in but it doesn't happen terribly often, and in those cases I just wait for them to cool down and go elsewhere for awhile.  And it's really the only way I have to discuss the books at all.  (I have a couple friends who read them but aren't really the book discussion type).
