DF Spoilers / Re: Black Court Missing Elders (Newbie first post)

Source, please? Harry says this in Blood Rites I believe

AFAIK, you are mistaken.  Blampires were created within recorded history (during the Dark Ages).  Specifically -- AIUI -- Drakul was trapped in a Starborn body last cycle, so about 666 years ago; so his son (who created the BC) is younger than that.

I don't think we know, for sure.

Whampires speak Etruscan, which was an early rival of Rome's.  The languages are distantly related (with a common ancestor) rather than either being "a form of" the other one; Etruscan is thought to be the older, with some influence on Roman (and via Roman, maybe even into English!).

We don't know the Whamps originated there, however (afaik, there is no WOJ specifying this); it's possible the Etruscan-speaking Whamps were simply the winners in old Whampire rivalries, and that Whampires pre-date even the Etruscan culture.  But... call it 3000 years ago, if we take the earliest Whamps to have arisen with the Etruscans.

We have a bit more detail on the Reds.  I think it's safe to pin Rampire origins to Mesoamerica (or maybe Polynesia) where they managed (somehow) to capture some of the great Powers worshiped as gods by the early native Mesoamericans (I suspect (but do not know of an WoJ confirming) that this happened around the fall of the Mayas and the dominating rise of the Aztec).  Drinking that super-powered blood gave them a huge power-up, and they stepped into the role of the gods, and were worshiped as-such going forward.

Whamps and Blamps overlapped from the beginning of the Blamps.  There was probably no Ramp interaction until mortals discovered the "New World" & Cortez' conquest.

But before that...?  In theory, either the Reds or the Whites could be much, much older.

So how long do you think that HWWB has been controlling Justine? Since the White Court Coup? Turncoat? Damn thing almost pulled it all off.. And how the hell did it get past the Outer Gates? Summoned by someone from the Black Council I take it. Wonder what that whole crews next play will be ,well besides kicking Dresden off of the council.

That was probably the thing that the Gatekeeper viewed with his sight and got  post traumatic stress like Harry did with Shaggy.

As for Foreshadowing, I think Rudolph's partner will pick up one of the blades. King Toad will try to kill Listen, and Nemesis/Justine will  try to use the baby as a bargaining chip. Oh and Harry punches Rameriez right in his stupid face for even suggesting that the 60,000 lives were on Harry's head because he didn't freaking talk to him. Smh

Harry uses the ruins of the BFS to shelter low grade mages and uses the runes there for some kick ass defense.

So did Christos really die? If he did I guess  he wasn't in the Black Council ( or the Circle if you prefer) then he just was a stupid politician probably being used as a catspaw by them at least..

So if he's actually dead then whose up next? Klaus the Toymaker finally?

Simple enough question..The WC seems to fear Harry like he's Darth Vader. My question is if the whole Starborn system was infact  put in place by the Old Ones or Outsiders to lead their armies since only Mortal Magic can summon them here ( also given they seem to be able exert some control over the Outsiders . Then at some point the whole system was hijacked at some point by the accorded nations.. Thoughts?
Sure it was his idea to attack the Carpenters but he's seen enough fairy bullshit to see through. I keep going back to what Ethnui said as Harry Binded her

"So you're saying that Listen betrayed me"

Maybe he did. Who knows

Well, LASCIEL will - she just projects to the body thru the Coin... Ursiel gets killed by Michael early on, decapitated IIRC, and HE comes back. Rasmussen, the host, is the one who goes. The Denarians could well move a few tons of rick and pick up Lasciel's Coin from Ascher's dead body, though they may have ways to summon the coin too (I know Lash said she could tell Harry how, but that might be different, as she was already in his head)
So you think there's absolutely no way that Hannah lived,? Maybe the monkey and her helped each other escape. I mean they were both fataly injured not to mention they had to dodge and defend against The residents of Hades..they could've team up.. maybe the monkey needed Hannah to open viel and protected her til they got out . I mean cmon. If he healed himself quick ,( still don't see friggin how!) Then he could've gotten her out of that rubble. Then the two of them team up and escape Hades. Though I think he probably would've needed Asher to open a way..He's strong but I'm not sure if subtly magic is his forte.

Well, human memory is basically the start of history - so we do not have anything putting the Blacks or Reds first, and Etruscan predates Latin - but is it a language the Whites picked up because they were in the area? Or did the locals pick up what the WHITES were talking, with the WC being the seed?
maybe Lara will go in on some .wC backstory when she's having public dinners and parties before,/if they get betrothed.

Especially because Rivers himself seems at a loss - so it is not a typical Forest People move
I assume Urseil revived him after a few but then how the hell did he linger long enough to heal then escape
Greek Hell? So many questions

And by the way I still want  find out about the two missing BC elders..Did Jim forget? We're they taken out in secrets? If anyone of you have time go reread chapters 11-13 in Battleground and tell me your thoughts.

9
Well, they are human enough to breed with humans.( hence River's son) So that could be enough for a coin merger.

Surviving the ice grinders will need some explaining though. Maybe Jim just wasn't done with the character's plot arc.
Any chance it gets lured to the island and locked up? I don't see how Harry can beat the beast head to head : although that's been a recurring theme throughout the series. Dresden taking on things above his weight class and always coming through. Well except Shagnasty.

Another interesting question is if he survived then did Hannah and Lash? Think so

Back in BR ,the porno witch hag tried to call up his servant HWWB  . It didn't gotoo well for her but it got me thinking..If this thing has freaking servant that's on par with Uriel then it can't just be some paltry god. Maybe the big umero Numero Big Bad.

Bad ass title by the way..Maybe this is the true head of the outsiders and Elder Things
.Hopefully Jim addresses it soonish .

Okay last newbie thread for a while. Pinkie swear 🤗

Kemmler followed by McCoy out on his covert missions.

Oh would love to find out how The First Merlin captured all those dark gods and nameless horrors. Doubt he did it all himself but would still be cool.

Oh and Jim?Can we please have a short story from either the perspective of one of the Walkers or Marcone having inner monologues with Thorned Namshiel. If Mab ever finds out that their in cahoots then all hell will break loose.

Sorry I know half of these aren't prequels but it would still be awesome

DF Spoilers / Re: How did you find The Dresden Files?

Reading Hellblazer opened up a whole new great world of occult detective genre and immediately ordered Fool Moon. Then Storm Front and Grave Peril. While all solid books by a new author I think he really hit his stride with GP And SK. Then I found Death Masks and Dead Beat and was over the moon. Love this guy and his books. Plus his shorts are some among the best I've ever read and had a absolute blast reading

I mean he was pretty much paste after that . I understand that he has one of the strongest fallen at his back but Jesus.

And another couple notes --- Will he think he will hold a grudge against Nic for leaving him there ? And I thought that only humans can get the coins ? I figure BOHS is a distant relative of humans but it still threw me for aloop. Can't wait for Book 20 to get more Denarion action and answer some of these questions.

Here's another question.. It's said many times that the BC has beeen around since the dawn of human memory..So a couple Millenna? So which Court is the oldest? The Red Court have been around since pre history as was astableshed in Changes with the revealing of Duchess Arianna age and the Red Kings. The whites speak aform of Roman right? So they might be started around then..So which Court do you think is the oldest . We have no clue how old Drakul is so it's anyone's guess just how long that they have existed  ; though it was his son that started the BC years later but that doesn't mean that they didn't have a older organization before Vlad went and rebelled and invented the Black Court..

Another thing ; it was  obvious when Vlad changed a human  into vampire 🦇 it was your  typical traditional Undead  Stoker Vamp. I wonder what happens if his Dad changes someone . Is it different? More like him? From all accounts of the lore ( well not the Dresden lore but the book is gospel  according to everyone in the series)Vlad was a handsome non rotting undead. So maybe Daddy can ichange people into beings more like himself .

Yeah guys when I wrote BC I meant Black Court..sorry for the misunderstanding ..Though I wouldn't rule out any BC elders being involved in Black Council business. Like Mavra for instance.
