Current story that I'm working hard on is 10,214 words.  Which counts the two completed chapters, the next one in progress, and a handful of excerpts for scenes further ahead in said story.

*pets story*  Half-a-page shy of 26 too.  Which makes me happy.  :D

I'd say go forward with Invision if Clam can't find anything.  I would offer up hosting on my own website and ask my friend to teach me how to get that type of board up 'n running but my site appears to be down for the moment.  And I'd ask her but she's already got two or three up on her site and dunno if she'd want more.

Then again, if I tell her my writing will be on it, she just might agree.

Anyway, whatever works.

Wasn't there someone that offered to host?  I looked back to try and find it but wasn't able to.

Thank you! That's exactly the type of thing I was looking for.

(Terion, thanks as well. I was trying to avoid setting up the board on my own like that, due to not wanting to screw up while people are posting their work ;) )

Ah, okay.  Good point on that.  Yay for Aethon pointing out the other board!

Uh...no name suggestions right now.  Will come back if I think of anything.  Randomly started looking up Latin phrases for a name and found this one the best out of what I found:

verba volant, scripta manent    "spoken words fly away, written ones remain"

Or maybe not as the title...perhaps as a subscript under the title?

On the board:
a friend of mine hosts two roleplaying message boards (one created by me, one by her) on her website.  You download the stuff from here then upload it to your website.  I haven't figured out how yet but the instructions may be somewhere on the site...or easy to figure out for someone that knows coding and such better than I do.  Board is very similar to this one with a few minor differences.

One of the two boards I mentioned 'cause I dunno if they have anything you can look at to get a glimpse on the website.

For that particular question, I am working on a zombie project.  One of the ideas I had to get to the brain was to poke two fingers into the eye sockets and rip the top of the skull off. You would use the face as leverage for this, but I don't think the facial structure is strong enough for this.  It might just collapse.

Neat!  And an interesting way to get to the brain.  I dunno, isn't facial structure usually pretty strong?  Maybe the area just under the eyes down to the mouth wouldn't be able to take it but I'd think the rest would.  Then again, I could be entirely wrong.

Can't really give anything helpful but your question about cracking skulls to get to brains reminded me of the scene in Hannibal where he's frying the agent or whatever's brains and casually pulls the top of his skull off, having sawed through it earlier.

I usually take fight scene inspiration from movies and books with nice good one's.

Yeah, definetly rather you'd do it right.  And, also yeah, if we can do anything to help you out, fairly sure a bunch of us would be willing to do so however we can.

I really want to get published but have one small problem.

Have to finish a story before I can send it anywhere.

Hence why it may be a while before I make my attempts at trying for publishing.

Huh, I recall seeing this in Neil Gaiman's blog not too long ago.  Should have investigated it earlier now that I look at it.  Lots of these are amusing.

Huzzah!  Yay writing board!

Also...

Phil Boswell has given us an unintentional challenge:
" How much mileage could you realistically get out of a protagonist who is good at reducing themselves to dripping goo?"

...I am reminded of both Alucard from Hellsing and a character I once created for an X-Men RP by the codename of Quicksilver who could - guess what - turn himself into goo (with other varying he could do with that power).  If this is the first writing assignment, I may have to pull that character out of the depths of my brain where he's been buried for about 5 or 6 years and dust the poor dear off.

I stop wherever I stop.  Though I try NOT to do it in mid-sentence because then I go back and stare and scratch my head whilst going "Okay...what the Hell was I thinking and where'd did it scurry off to to hide whilst I wasn't looking?".

Nope.  Does have long hair though.   :)

Hmm, I don't know about the name thing.  They did have to change Murphy's name on the TV show because of the cop with the same name but I don't know if it'd be the same with this.

Names mainly come at just random and they are usually vary random.  But only if I'm writing fantasy, such as the story I'm working on now based in my fantasy world.  Some name examples: Syndys, Zaelnaei, Klaeshii, Mrawth, Qwith Xaithor, Arraran Ristvuul, A’kail Moldrenke, and Ockbrim Shaestuul.

For regular names, I have a whole three lists of first names (male and female) and last names that I took from yearbooks and various and assundry other places.  Few I've used are: Darien O'Connell, Ravyen Smythe, Halcyon Baxter, Harper Dannon, Emily Hart, and Dana Galloway

Also, Tersa, its really weird that I have a friend with that exact name.
