Maybe Murphy could find some mantle to don that would allow her step back into the real world?

So, messing with Mac's beer would set off the apocalypse....

I imagine that someone from the Black Council or Harry will give The Merlin a sabotaged bottle of Mac's beer at some point, and when The Merlin twists off the bottle cap a mistfiend will attack him.

DF Spoilers / Re: "Talk To Me..." Had Carlos Already Drank the Kool-Aid?

Anyone else find it suspicious that Carlos only brought people who at one time would have stood up for Harry away from HQ right when they were having a discussion about Harry's membership?  Carlos says that he choose the team that came to Chicago.  Carlos has to know more wardens than this, yet chooses to only bring Harry's pottential allies away when he could really use them.

We also know just how many little folks are running around Chicago and Harry in particular.  A pizza and the right questions can get you a lot of valuable information.

Harry will be Thomas's brother twice over, half brother through Margaret and brother-in-law through marriage.  Bob will give Harry so much grief.

Bob is around a thousand years old right?  That would seem to align with the time Mab and Titania accended to become Queens, right?  Could one of the former Queens of Summer or Winter have created Bob when they died and passed on?  The Queen's mantle is still in the story even if the specific character is not.  In Cold Days Mab seemed to have some affection for her former knight Tam Lin.

"appeared in the Dresden Files" could also apply to passing references made throughout the books.  Jim has a tendency to stretch his words.  So that would widen the possibilities considerably.

Does someone have to die or make a huge sacrifice in order to create a spirit of intellect?

We also don't know much about the war that has been going on between the WC and the Fomor.  I think there was a WOJ that the fomor were pressing the WC in Europe.  Eb would have been at the forefront of a lot of those battles.  He may be burnt out from all the fighting the WC has been doing since Harry took out the Reds.  Harry mentions that Eb looks old and tired.  Some of his temper may be from overwork, especially if he had to keep using the blackstaff.

Or another maybe Eb recently found out that his old friend Simon is now running around calling himself Cowl and trying to destabilize the world.  Eb does seem to be fixated on betrayal in this book.

It sounds like Eb may have had a run in with a cornerhound before, but we don't know when that was.  It could have been before Eb was the badass he is today or it could have gotten the drop on him before he knew what he was up against.  The remembered fear of a close call would be hard to completely ignore, hence the shaking.

DF Spoilers / Re: Christmas Eve from JB's Twitter (no news, just fun)

Hasn't Jim said somewhere that Mab and Winter are in charge of the security and safety at the peace talks?  That would mean that Harry would also be responsible for keeping things smoothly and dealing with any problems arising.  That could also be why Molly paid for all the expenses of the fallout.  The people killed would not have been part of any agreements and therefore originally left out of any compensations.  But Harry would see that very differently.

I don't think that Mab not just getting rid of Maeve shows a change in what she is.  Summer and Winter are opposing forces, but they have similar natures.  Tatania knew that something was up with Aurora but was unable to do anything about it just like Mab.  But Mab has seen what Aurora tried to do so she made plans to deal with Maeve if it ever got to the point of no return.  Even then Mab tries to give Maeve a choice to come back to her.  I think that Mab's reluctance to deal with Maeve has to do with the fact that she is her daughter, a connection that is hardwired into all living things.  In the end she allows what must be done to be done for the good of all even if she doesn't like it.
