Chances aren't great, yet. It's on my radar, but honestly just not a high priority given everything else I'm managing right now.

Not a problem... Shall I continue to give you monthly reminders?  Or shall I just let it go for now? :)

Excellent.

My problems are that searches don't work well.

Otherwise with a few well placed bookmarks it works just fine.

Read YS pg 228...

It makes it open to have non-mortal supernatural characters use a PC or technology.

Well my wife just called me and told me that she is reading my books....

Here I am working and she's reading my books!!!!

Grrrr....

Happy to have them though!

Thank you Evil Hat for putting my favorite series into a playable RPG.  I have been wanting to play something like this for a while and WoD just did not cut it.

Tech and Magic do not mix.

True, but magic can imitate technology....

Crystal Pane mounted in a LCD frame for a monitor.  Embed a logic spirit that can interface with the internet into an empty PC box, connect the PC to the monitor and Wah-la voice activated 'Computer'.  You could even go as far as placing a mouse and keyboard for manual inputs (spirit reads the movement).

As for magic and technology does not mix, true but it never says things from the never-never cannot interface with the internet or use computers.  the hex happens during stressful Wizards walking around and actual spell casting or from beings being in conflict with their super-naturalness.

I highly doubt that demons and devils aren't searching the internet for juicy tidbits.  Also

« on: July 09, 2010, 03:41:44 PM »
Nice.  Hadn't thought about using magic to harden the playdoh.   ;)

---

"What are you doing?" asked Simon's colleague as he watched Simon continue to smash a chunk of playdoh against his wallpaper.  "Are you getting a blood spatter off the wall, so you can track the person?"

"No." Answered Simon, frowning at the wall and smashing the lump of playdoh harder.

"Have you already linked to another chunk of the playdoh, and you are pushing here so the effect will happen there?"

"No." Answered Simon, once more frowning at the wall and smashing the lump even harder.

"Well, I give up what are you doing?"

"Trying to get this stain off the wall," Grinned Simon.  "Its been bugging me for days now.  You do know that is what playdoh was originally invented for right?"

ROFLMAO

I will agree a high level mortal can hang with most things, what about a "foot in the water" mortal?

How well can one deal with supernatural nasties?

Sure a group of 4-5 mortals can take down a RCV, what what about 1 on 1?

Hard to say. It's the sort of thing that people can easily home-brew themselves.

Would it be fair to say about 40% of your direct orders would be interested in these chips?  If so how many would that be?  .....

Never mind.. Don't answer that.. you said your busy.. I'll wait till August. :)

If I wanted to sell this as a bonafide product rather than a "hey, let's coordinate a group effort" thing, the markup wouldn't be 25%, it'd be more like... 300%. Because if you sell a product into distribution, you're only going to get about 40% of it back, minus costs of shipping and assembly and construction. So what I'd need to find as a publisher is a way to get those chip costs down to about 10 or 15 cents per, if I wanted to put out a reasonably priced ten or more chip set in the $8 range.

hurm... how many do you think as a publisher you would sell over the course of a year?

I like UPS, never had an issue with them except during Katrina. So I cut them some slack for that.

Always delivers on time, easy to track, does not "pretend to try to deliver" for an afternoon off. Beeen using them for years with e-bay,  newegg - etc etc. Better than Fed-ex, or the Replacement mail lady that skips delivering for an afternoon to get home early.

Huh... I dunno this time...

DFRPG / Re: Character Advancement - Mortals
« on: July 08, 2010, 05:09:16 PM »
A large number of excellent options have already been suggested, and I'm sure you could use those effectively.  However, if I could chime in as well, I'd say one of the keys is to let the various avenues they're pursuing arise from actions and connections they make in game.  That way when they do begin to come into their powers they'll feel more organic.

True, my goal is to have some things already available for those looking to cast off their "Pure Mortal" concept and move to a more magical concept, if they know how to find them

My group is fairly well rounded and I can see 1 or 2 of them looking to branch off from the Mortal template.  I just like to be prepared with some well thought out responses when a character tells me he is going to try to make a deal for some supernatural powers ...
