She nodded again, more sharply. "Then I'm conscripting you into the Wardens as a regional commander."
I blinked.
"You'll be in charge of security and operations in this region, and coordinate with the other three American regional commanders."
Priscellie FTW!
14. What characters have appeared in every Dresden Files story so far?
14. Harry, Bob, and Murphy (Mister was not in the short story from My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding)
1. What is the name of Harry’s car?
2. Where did Harry get his staff?........

Tak, there are actually four Regional Commanders in the US, though we only know the names of two. From Dead Beat:QuoteShe nodded again, more sharply. "Then I'm conscripting you into the Wardens as a regional commander."
I blinked.
"You'll be in charge of security and operations in this region, and coordinate with the other three American regional commanders."
But you may be required to participate in missions from time to time, and I will expect you to work with the other regional commander in America. He operates out of Los Angeles.
Question - I was re-reading DB and came across this (p392 (?) hardback) from when Morgan gives Harry his first check. Morgan says:
This seems to imply that they're down to Harry and one other (Carlos). As I thought about this, it occurred to me that when Harry first became a Warden, Morgan was one of the 4. Then when Morgan took over the role of leading the wardens (due to Luccio's injuries), he was no longer a regional commander? I also thought that in the battles, another one got killed. But I skimmed back through DB and searched PG, and I can't find anything to back up either of these recollections specifically.
Are there other references to the regional commanders? I don't have White Night, so I can't look there.
- Confused, BL
???
Off-topic, I apologize. But I am so confused as to the different titles of wardens. Can anyone just list them in rank? Is Harry in the middle or at the bottom?I don't have anything specific from the books to back this up, but it's my feeling that there isn't probably a real hierarchy, as Wizards in a group are like herding cats. The only titles that I recall having seen were Warden, Regional Commander, and Field Commander.
on a side note, I'd like to meet the East Coast commander...perhaps he's from New York :D
From the "four regional commanders in America" line, together with the comments about Harry and Ramirez being the two regional commanders in America, I'd been guessing that the other two regional commanders were in Canada, and by "in America", Luccio really meant "in North America."
What color is Harry's "blue" beetle?I just finished re-reading WN, and the only description of the beetle is that it is blue, red, yellow, and green. I know one of the earlier books is more detailed (i.e. the color of the hood & the doors), and am searching for that info. I haven't found it in SK, DM, BR, DB, or PG. But now I am on a mission!!
Ok, I don't have White Night right now, so I can't dig up the answer... but I will!

Bob was not in the prequel story on line. maybe rephrase the question to 14. What characters have appeared in every published Dresden Files story so far?
just a thought
Re: number 20--I don't think it killed the Blampire, just messed him or her up very very badly.

Uilos is correct! While she doesn't appear in Grave Peril, Molly makes a quite memorable appearance in Death Masks. Not only does she give Harry the idea to tie Susan up to "bleep" more safely, she tricks Sanya into prank-calling a bunch of businesses, thus endearing her to me forever. :D
As for Madrigal Raith, while he is mentioned by name in Blood Rites, he doesn't actually appear until Proven Guilty. I'm not sure where you're getting Death Masks.
You might want to mention Mac, as well.
You forgot her mentioning the breast-fairy, you can never forget the breast fairy!

For starters, what are your standards on "Minor Characters"? XD
Anyway, Rawlins' first appearance is in Dead Beat and I believe Stallings first appears in Grave Peril, not Fool Moon. And Bianca first shows up in Storm Front.
Where does Bianca appear in Storm Front? I think that she is mentioned in there, but not actually encountered....
I would have to read the whole story to find it, and you might be able to answer quicker than I can find it.
Bianca is introduced very early into the first book. Chapter 9 to be precise
I think you're taking this particular trivia question a bit further than it needs to go. :D
As for Rawlins (not Rawlings), he wasn't in SI at that time, and he is not mentioned by name until Dead Beat. Micky Malone, who we learn in Grave Peril took part in the battle with the loup-garou, isn't mentioned by name either. Your question is about appearance, and being mentioned by name (or description, as Ramirez is in Summer Knight) is the only way of judging that.
As for listing every character that Harry has ever encountered, you'd only be reinventing the wheel. Just wait until the RPG comes out... *drools*
Yeah, I'm a little disappointed tho that the information of the books are only the five of ten that have audiobooks out.

What is Gard's valkarie name?
What do the three names of the Swords of the Cross mean?
Denton and Thomas
We don't know if he's soulgazed Eb and Elaine though, even if he had, it's not shown in the books
The denerian Bear, Eb, Elaine, Susan(If when you said his girlfriend you ment Harry's), and Ms. Beckett/Ms. Demeter (If you ment Marcone's Girlfriend) both of which He has soulgazed, But I think I am missing atleast one and probally moreHe also soulgazed both Michael Carpenter (mentioned in Grave Peril) and his daughter Molly (occured in Proven Guilty) and FBI Agent Denton (occured in Fool Moon).
What color is Harry's "blue" beetle?
Ok, I don't have White Night right now, so I can't dig up the answer... but I will!
Which book is Eb from and i didn't think he had soulgazed Thomas because i thought it wasn't possible to soulgaze vampires?
I came across the answer to the blue beetle in... the first book. Do we need the most recent? Specifics, specifics...
Answer: Powder blue, white, yellow, red, green, and primer grey
I found 3 quotes for this (Thanks, Priscellie for pointing me to FM!):
Fool Moon
The Beetle wasn't really blue, not anymore. One of the doors had been replaced with a green duplicate, the other one with white, when something with claws had shredded the originals. The hood had been slagged by fire, and my mechanic, Mike, had replaced it with the hood from a red vehicle.
Dead Beat
The car has had various doors and panels replaced with white, yellow, red, and green. My mechanic, Mike, had managed to pound the hood more or less back into its original condition, which I’d bent our of shape while ramming a bad guy, but I hadn’t had the money to repaint, so now the car had primer grey added to its ensemble.
Proven Guilty
It’s a jumble of different colors, as my mechanic has replaced damaged portions of the body with parts from junked Bugs, but it started off as a shade of powder blue, and that had earned it the sobriquet of the Blue Beetle.
ETA quote from PG, to clarify that the "blue" is "powder blue," 'cause it's a fine piece of trivia :D

Tak, there are actually four Regional Commanders in the US, though we only know the names of two. From Dead Beat:
How much did Harry's coat cost?Susan gave it to him as a gift in Fool Moon. We don't know how much it cost originally, or how much he's spent (if any) in making it the magical equivalent of Kevlar (and more).
When did he get it?
I was looking at buying one. I mean a really good one. prices in US$ ranged up to 700.00 for reasonable designs
How old is harry?
How old is harry?25 or so in Storm Front. 35 now.
I'd say he is around 38 at the end of Turncoat.
For I thought he startet out at 29 or sth. like that.
Priscellie's timeline has Harry being born about 25 years before Storm Front. I thought he was older, too.so 25+5 years (time between death masks and small favor)+2 years, 8 months+1.5 years= approx. 34 at the time of turn coat
What color did Molly dye her hair? I just finished Proven Guiltey so that is fresh in my mind. What where the Three Horror movie monster that the... Phages took up?
What is the name of Michael's Knight of the Cross Sword? What Knight of the Cross Sword does Harry have at his "house"?Trick question; Michael is no longer a Knight, and thus has no sword. The swords Harry guards are Amoracchius, formerly Michael's, and Fidelacchius, formerly Shiro's.
Throw some simple questions in make like three levels of it or something. Like for one could be how many wolf belt where there? Simple question but some people would forget it. What is the name of the fallen angle that Harry has "under" his floor? What is Murry's first name? What is Harry's Step borthers name? What was the name of the Dinosaur Harry brought back with Necromancy?
Correct – That Blampire was killed by Harry's Faith-(in Magic)-powered Pentacle.(fully realizing someone may have picked this up in the intervening pages...sorry, just no time to go through them all) What about the paintball gun with garlic and Holy Water rounds? Or was that never used...dang it I can't remember...
When One Ear stepped over it to get away, and the blue light caused it to burst into flame.
1. There were 4 wolf belts. Bonus points how many people wore the belts?Should be 5 people wore them if I recall correctly, but I dont remember if we see all 5 actually transform.
What about the paintball gun with garlic and Holy Water rounds? Or was that never used...dang it I can't remember...
...What was the name of the Dinosaur Harry brought back with Necromancy?.... Oh another for fun. Full 100% FANS ONLY What is the name of Michael's Knight of the Cross Sword? What Knight of the Cross Sword does Harry have at his "house"?
Ok I am out of ideas but they will keep coming.
What is Murry's first name?
Sue (WHO IS AWESOME), Amorrachius, and, previous to Turn Coat, he has Fidelacchius at his house.
1) What was Harry's hand stabbed with in Summer Knight, and who did the stabbing?
2) What was the name of the priest Cassius impersonated on Death Masks?
3) What was the name of the ring of thieves who stole the Shroud of Turin in Death Masks?
4) Who was the only member of this group to still be alive at the end of DM?
1) Mab, with a letter opener.
2) Father Vincent
3) The Churchmice
4) Anna Valmont
He stabbed himself duh
he still did it
Tak, there are actually four Regional Commanders in the US, though we only know the names of two. From Dead Beat:I think there was a Texan commander, IIRC.
I would like to meet the Canadian Warden - Dresden Files meets Northern Exposure.Or Dresden Files meets Due South?
Or Dresden Files meets Due South?
Yes, one of our Regional Commanders looks surprisingly like Paul Gross. And no, not all of the Ways accessible here lead through Winter. 8)
I would like to meet the Canadian Warden
Regarding question number 2 I think you mean in Proven Guilty and Not dead beat ;)And the name of the com was
Here's one I just noticed:
Question:
How many people in the books are called a "b**ch"?
Answer:
More than I thought.
Wow. That is a good question...and a tough one. Does the same person getting called that multiple times count as one or multiple?
Just the list of people would be interesting. I'm actually willing to bet the list of significant characters not called b**ch is shorter.
Technically:
Rawlin's mother
Murphy's Ex-husband's mother
Papa Raith's mother
Justin Dumorne's mother
Marcone's Mother
Morgan's Mother
I believe that Molly uses it on Luccio in TC ("You hit like a girl")
Others I seem to remember:
Harry (named so by Murphy)
Maggie Le Fay (Luccio in TC)
Murphy (Raith, Rawlins)
Georgia (Billy in FM. I remember it shocked me a little)
Female FBI cop (Murphy in FM)
Bianca (Thomas in GP)
Marva (Harry in GP)
Others I'm pretty sure of:
Wife of Shadowman
Feline Phobophage(Harry)
Susan (Tara West?/ Cassius?)
Deirde (Susan)
Lara / any of the crazy ladies in Blood Rites/
Tara West (Harry)
Lash (Harry)
Madrigal (Thomas)
Need to check:
Murphy's sister? (by Murphy)
Maeve? (by Fix in GP/ Slate in SK)
Justine? (Madrigal)
Elaine (Molly)
Skavis/Priscilla (Elaine)
WC vampires in the deeps
Titania
Denarians in Shedd/on island (Maybe Nicodemus?)
Technically:
Rawlin's mother
Murphy's Ex-husband's mother
Papa Raith's mother
Justin Dumorne's mother
Marcone's Mother
Morgan's Mother
You forgot Lea by Mouse in Changes
What was Harry Dresden name originally going to be in the Syfy TV show?
There's a reason this thread is under "DF Books". :D
HI Hatshep where ya been>
I've got a hard one for everyone
What color is Harry's hat ;D
You have defeated the trick question ;D
He does have one on the covers though ;)
Yes, but that's artistic license - however in the books - I believe he keeps commenting on wanting to get a hat. He just never does.
The hat is from a parrellel universe where everything goes his way and all book are rapped up by page 13.
He just needs some spurs next time ;D
With his long legs the spurs will hit those who are pursueing him
And that would just have to improve his day even more. Okay, its decided - Harry needs spurs. ;)
With Harry's luck he'd manage to rowel himself not the bad guys. ;D
Worse, catch a spur in his coat and send himself tumbling ass over tea kettle and probably into Mouse.
No, no, he needs detachable ninja star-spurs! ;D
Like I've said elsewhere - Harry Dresden - The Jar Jar Binks of the Supernatural world - an equal opportunity messer up of his plans, yours, mine, and the bad guys. ;D
*snort*You like my ninja spurs idea?

11. Can a female Wampire give birth?

11. Can a female Wampire give birth?Yes - we have evidence in White Night. "Cesarina Malvora" is young Vitto's mom.
12. Is there a basement lab in the new building where the Chicago Justice League meets?
13. How many members of the White Council are there?
- 200 Wardens * "only about 1 in 5 have combat magic affinity to begin with".
- 1 Council-class wizard in Chicago (around 1 in 3,000,000 mortals) = 2300 Council-class wizards worldwide.
Isn't there a WoJ that the grandmother was just human nothing special?
Harry doesn't wear a hat or even have one I believe.
Do we know what Harry's eye color is? I was discussing this with someone the other day, as they thought he had green eyes (like Harry Potter) while I had the impression that they were brown or blue. Then I realized that I didn't really know for sure, and started to wonder if it had even been mentioned.
Umm, I could be wrong here, and I hate to necro the post (I seem to have developed a bad habit of doing that...), but I think that by the end of Dead Beat/the beginning of Proven Guilty there are only 3 regional commanders, (one of them is presumed to be dead, due to the Red Court offensives) including Harry and Ramirez.im gonna do the same thing, doesn't harry say at one point he has 4 wardens under him, but they are to young for him to use?
Many of these questions pertain to the most current situations, i.e. after you have read Ghost Story. If you have not and don't even want a CHANCE at knowing any information do not read further!! However if you have read GS, please continue!(click to show/hide)
I have a question that is driving me (more) nuts. Who was/is Harry's grandmother on the McCoy side?
Harry has, and has worn, a black baseball cap with coca-cola written in red letters on it.Hasn't he worn a Burger King crown before? Or is that a product of my imagination?

in regards to Eb being somehow involved?
Humans or non-humans? If the latter probably Wizard McCoy (in "Changes"--200 at a pop.)

Good point. But McCoy's been wizarding since 1812 at least, and has had considerably longer to amass his body-count, and as the Blackstaff a freer hand in doing so.
If we're talking about who has the highest bodycount outside of Harry I'd like to nominate Tessa for the Black Death and IIRC the Rwandan genocide (among other things).

It is pronounced Mar-cone according to Jim. James Marsters pronounced it wrong for the first few audiobooks.Add the Italian accent and it sounds right! At least when I read about him, I am thinking Italian nationality.

Let's see. I'm re-reading the books, at a rapid clip, so a lot of stuff is fairly firmly in mind right now. I didn't read this entire thread though, so my apologies if these are duplicates.
1) What items did Harry's mother leave to him?
2) What is Toot's full true name?
3) What's the name of Harry's landlady?
4) Where does Ebeneezer live?
5) Who are the "normal human" signatories to the Unseelie Accords?
6) What items has Toot used as his helmet?
Ok, I found it, but I don't know how to do that spoiler thing you did, so I don't want to type it. It was in Turn Coat. And on looking at it again, it may not really be his name, though it's phrased exactly the way you'd phrase a name. Looks to be about 75% of the way through the book.
Jim pronounces it "Mar-cone" but Marcone himself would almost certainly pronounce it "Marcony"Since it's not his real name, he (Marcone) probably pronounces it however he likes. Which is probably more like the American "Cap-own" rather than the Italian "Cap-own-ay". Whichever sounds more "mobster".
