DFRPG / Re: Rpg.net character creation challenge

I must say, I like the artwork and am curious to where it came from.
It's a Dan Dos Santos piece*, which makes it ironically perfect for a DFRPG character (albiet less so than one made from a Chris McGrath character  ;) )

Very nice. Oo, idea - also useful for "Super Mario"-themed areas of the Nevernever.   ;D

You'll have to go out to other arcane libraries or bookstores, talk to spirits and demons, etc, when getting your research together during preparation.
"Adventure Hook" sounds a bit to tame for this prospect. "Adventure Coat-rack"?

You know what RPG setting would probably work pretty well with DFRPG?

Deadlands.

Nicely done. Plus, it'll make a great reference for that Dresden Files/1632 crossover that I didn't know I needed to write until just now.  ;D

I'll cheerily echo all the "looks great - can't wait!" type comments. And throw in the totally new, "Sue has her own stat block! Whee!"  ;D

You know, it occurred to me earlier that splitting up the game into two books like this will make it easier to update in a few several years when there are a lot more novels out - just publish Our World - Part II and you're good.  ;)

I'm glad things are finally coming together for this - I've been looking forward to it for a long time!

Author Craft / A Couple World-building Questions
« on: October 04, 2009, 09:25:58 PM »
Hi, everybody. I've been doing some mental world-building recently, and would appreciate some help researching/reality-checking a couple ideas.

First, assuming a planet with Earth's approximate size and land-to-water ratio, how would having two smaller moons rather than one Luna-sized moon affect tides and calendars (or anything else you can think of)?

Second, what biological barriers are there to having a species identical to humans, except that some have naturally bi-colored hair? I've heard that animals such as zebras that have stripes and suchlike actually have skin colors that reflect the patterns, is this true? Or relevant?

Again, any thoughts on either of these would be appreciated. Thanks  :)

DFRPG / Re: DFRPG Fate Dice?

For what it's worth, the LEGO company recently released some board games with customizable d6s (picture courtesy of Brickshelf). These, I figure, will when they finally arrive in the US, be perfect for making Fudge dice out of - and hey, it combines LEGO and Dresden into the same activity. How cool is that?  ;D

Personally, I thought the Emissary of Power character type seemded tailor-made for making Slayers, with or without the serial number still attached.  ;)

I think the Hellboy movies would be a good fit for this, the second perhaps moreso than the first - but I haven't seen the second yet, so that opinion is based entirely on hearsay.

And of course the two sample "High Concepts" are "CRIME-FIGHTING WEREWOLF" and "WEREGOAT WISEASS".  ;)
