I'll be there with bells on! (Well, something on, anyway.) Got my tickets/book ordered and everything!

KC also has the megaawesomebonus of being RELEASE DAY!

Be sure to let Jim know how far you drove to see him.  That's a truly heroic quest!

Or, as my husband insists on putting it: "Stalking my favorite author." He is being dragged along to share in my 'quest' of course! Although he won't have a costume. And hasn't even read all of the books, the heathen. But he loves me, and that's what counts.

Thanks for the dining tip, Shecky. We'll have to go there before we turn around and head home. Hmm. Maybe I can offer to buy Jim dinner there? Then my husband can really rib me!

Well, alrighty then. After consultation with Google maps, I discover that Naperville illinois is 7 hrs, 14 mins drive from here (Minneapolis, MN), and Kansas City is 7 hrs, 10 mins (a straight shot down I 35). And KC has the distinct advantage of not being in Illinois. No offense intended to any Illini-Illinwah?-Illinians?- Folks who live around there, but I'd rather avoid the whole state if possible.

So I guess it's KC for me after all! Who else from around here is going to be there?

*runs off to order ticket*

I have the tour dates!  Posting them in the next hour.

Cool! Holding my breath worked!

  that would be a blast!

Seconded. I'd love to meet you in person some day, Priscillie!

I haven't bought my tickets yet, waiting for the full list first, but it sure doesn't sound like the upper midwest is likely to get any love this time around. *Holds breath till further information is forthcoming*

Hmm. East coast, huh? Guess I better be packing my bags and buying my tix for KC!

Calendar Event Discussion / Re: Jim's 2011 Schedule

Exactly.  I live very check to check so it would be a big deal for me to have to go to the other side of the state.  Anyone who can go the kind of distance you guys have for it has my respect that must have taken a hell of a lot of foresight.

Yeah, either that or we're just dumbasses who can't be bothered to manage our money or plan for retirement.

Didn't mean to dis ya' Wiz. (I really just wanted to post something on this thread so I'd get updates  ;D)

And, yes, Sheckmeister, NJ to MO would be still more. I bow to your superior parsimony!  ;)

Ah. OK, that makes more sense now.  I hope they'll be releasing the full schedule soon.  It's getting to be that time of year if Jim's not coming to St Louis I need to start saving for a trip to KC.  That is a lot of gas. >.<

*Gives Wizard H the hairy eyeball*
You think that's a lot of gas? I'm seriously considering coming down to KC from Minneapolis if he doesn't come any closer!
Now that's a lot of gas.

DF Comic Books / Re: Coming April: Fool Moon!

Bwahahahahaha!

*Wipes tears of laughter away from eyes*

Thanks for the great joke, everybody. April first is way more fun on the internet that in real life (especially when your job is working with kids...)

And beautiful work, Payne! I always love to see a good Bard parody.

Can I second the request for a glimpse of the fake banner? I only saw the announcement this morning because of the newsfeed, and the banner's back to normal.

Because then Jim would have had to come up with some other way to break Harry's back...

Shhh!

I actually read it frm a e-book but the quote is..."After which, we were going to have a long talk about my mother and these Outsiders and their relation to the Black Court and exactly what the hell was going on."

see if u can find it and make anything of it

White Night HC page 364 (US version). Your quotation is word for word, pitchdarkman.

I've always been 99% certain that that was a typo (because there aren't any of those in modern publishing anymore, of course!) and what was intended was "...these Outsiders and their relation to the Black Council..." which makes worlds more sense. Setting aside this quote, there's hardly a single mention of Black Court Vamps in that whole book, but Cowl and the theorized Black Council/Circle are a major thread.

Calendar Event Discussion / Re: Where would YOU like Jim to appear?

Hear that Jim?
You're safe until you finish the DF.
Come to London, the beer's better.

But he doesn't drink...BEER.

Only the tears of rabid fans!

Hey, there's an upside to the delay this year! If he does a signing stop anywhere in the midwest, I will (theoretically) have the time to make a road trip out to see him. (Gotta love the school calendar!)

You should lay off the raw fish, then.

Yeah, that's what I get for digging into the cat food, huh?

Wondered if you'd catch that.  ;D

Oh, OK, I'd not seen that. Another notion down in splinters; by the Law of Conservation of  Loony Theory, I am due inspiration any minute now.

We wait with baited breath.
