Force Field [-2]
Description: You are able to create some kind of defense against attacks
Benefit: You gain a block 2 against all physical attacks equal to the results of this check, this lasts as long as you spend a supplementary action per turn.
Unlimited Concentration [-1]: You no longer need to make a supplementary action to maintain your shield.

What do you think?

Edit: a few more

For my grey court (twilight :)) vamps

Sparkle [-2]:
Anyone of the opposite gender viewing you in sunlight takes a -2 penalty to all social skills used against you.

And for a supernatural Russian wet works character

Danger Sense [-2]:
Once per scene, you may spend a fate point to negate a physical attack.

There are a lot of nice ideas/NPC and I know I'd be upset if you stopped. :)

I concur. as for the use of creatures, I just used a Dragon in my annual Halloween Game, and it went great, the three characters had to call on some aid to take it down, which really added to future possible plots.

Thanks :)

Wait wasn't she like 8 in Changes, which would mean she was conceived in Fool Moon, right?

Rereading SK I came across this: In SK Maeve offers an answer to his question ("Did you arrange the murder of the Summer Knight") in exchange for his firstborn child, and offered him a Sidhe to bear his child, but what about

DFRPG / Some Help for a GM new to the System
« on: August 20, 2010, 10:44:07 PM »
So, I've been GMing for a while (about 9 years), and a skill I've never seemed to have is spreading adventures over multiple sessions. This hasn't been a problem before, none of the games I've ran have had a mechanic resolving over multiple session run, but with the Fate system's advancement being central to this idea, I've run into a bit of a snag. I had hoped I'd be able to learn the skill by the end of my intro (to the setting/system) arc but with that having just closed about 10 min. ago, it appears I haven't. So any help you can offer?

Bonus Question: I've also been having trouble balancing encounters (often winding up too hard), is there any tips/tricks you can offer in this regard?

Thanks in Advance

I'd also say that it should automatically have the extra catch of 'self-inflicted' so that wizards can't abuse this massively. That does reduce it's utility a lot though.

I'm pretty sure in YS it already mentions that no form of mental defenses work against self-inflicted damage (I think its somewhere in the Spellcasting section, but I don't have my books in front of me)

A couple of Questions:

1: which is more fun to write, Dresden or Alera

2: Do you play the Dresden Files RPG, if so, can we see your character?

Also, if you want some tips on building adventures, I'd recommend reading Jim Butcher's Live Journal, it has plenty of tips for writing stories, which can easily be used for building adventures.

Ah that makes sense, I though the power loss was included in the +1

@Koffeykid Although Gifted with Soul is cool, it only grants a +1 which if you take a RCV from OW (pg. 86) they have a refresh of -11 therefore one would still have to play a character with a refresh rate higher than what's provided in the books to actually play a RCV, because even in submerged you would have a 0 refresh & therefore be unplayable

DFRPG / Re: Hexing and EMP Hardening

I would tend to agree, a hexing (a tleast as derived from Butter's theories), is the result of a wizard's natural generation of a strong electromagnetic pulse, and electromagnetic pulse hardening, is the process of making a computer stronger against an electromagnetic pulse.
