Hrm.
-
:'(

That doesn't sound like a total denial either though. More of a "cool it" on someone leaking news before it's properly finalized than a straight repudiation.
-
Not giving anymore of my attention span to anything Dresden but Peace Talks. I hope that it works out for the fans who want it.
His tweet doesn't really say anything. He sounds very like a politician. If it's an outright lie, and if he needs to deny it, the phrase "not true" is sufficient.
-
Groovy!
-
I guess, "wait and see?"
-
I guess, "wait and see?"
Well. We have experience at that...
-
Options are just that and nothing more. When (If) there's an announcement the Dresden Files has been greenlighted and will be going into production, then I will become interested and want to know more. Until that happens, my reaction is, "meh."

It appears to be true... Do a search on Bing for "Dresden Files fox" and it's being reported all over now....

Widely reported doesn't necessarily equal true.
Every single article I'm finding credits Deadline -- none of them cite any other source.

True, but the fact so many big names are crediting the source indicate they have confidence in it. They probably don't want to look silly for reporting fake news if it's not true.

That's really not how news websites like that think.
They'd rather look silly for reporting fake news than look silly for not reporting the story at all. "So and so is reporting" doesn't express any confidence except exactly what it says -- if they had confidence in the story, that would mean they have a direct source.
How many times have you seen a headline saying that Ben Affleck is done as Batman? At least three or four since Justice League came out and as far as anyone with credibility can tell, he's still in it. A few weeks ago, they were all reporting that Henry Caville was out as Superman. That turned out to be a load of BS that was, at best, based on a misinterpretation of something a film exec said.
-
Cavill it's Superman still? I thought the news about his leaving were true.
-
Deadline isn’t a gossip site though, if they reported it they would have thought it was pretty reliable. Not saying that I believe them over Jim himself, it’s obviously not a 100% done deal, but I think it’s safe to get our hopes up a bit.
-
It's Hollywood; they probably change their minds on what they're are going to do more often than a 6 year old.

On ... Bing?

On ... Bing?
bing is a search engine run by microsoft.

There was never anything official confirmed, his publicist said the cape is staying where it is, and his instagram response was a lighthearted trolling that made it pretty clear (to me at least) that the whole thing was probably a joke.bing is a search engine run by microsoft.
But ... why?

When I heard the news I figured it was more likely the sides were having a disagreement and they were floating it out there to intimidate him.
But why?
It was asked what Bing was, I just gave the answer.

It was not asked what Bing was. I think surprise was expressed about the use of that browser.

As I recall, the thing that started the whole mess was that he didn't do a cameo in Shazam, which some people jumped on as being the start of some great feud, but was probably just a scheduling conflict, which is what named sources reported. The only thing official is WB saying no decisions on future Superman movies have been made.

Yeah, Dina got it.

Has always worked fine for me.
-
Personally, I only used it a couple of times, I have no complains.
-
I am lazy with my search engines; I use Google.

Same, though the one or two times I've used it was mostly to search "Google" so maybe I'm not the best judge.

So this is another item to ask Jim, probably next spring (if nothing further is announced) the next time he's does a Q&A on Reddit or at a public Q&A.

It's on some of the computers I use at work. I can't give you a specific technical reason for my opinion (other than it's maps), but I despise Bing. Generally, I find its searches to be less than optimal compared to Google.
