Author Craft / Re: NaNoWriMo 2010

Well I'm going to give it the college try this year. Just got WriteItNow, and looking at Scrivener's Demo when it comes out in time for NaNoWriMo...

So we'll see...not sure what I'm going to write yet, most likely going to be some flavour of Urban Fantasy, though may just give traditional fantasy a go...wait an see I suppose what mood strikes me when the time comes :)

Username Vince.Kingston at the NaNoWriMo site for those who care ;)

Also keep in mind too the chart in the back of the book with regards to difficulties. This can be used to gauge the "power level" of the foes you pit your group against. Fx: If your characters have Good Fists skills, an opponent with Good Defenses will be an even challenge, Great Defenses will be a bit of a challenge (possibly causing your PCs to use a Fate Point/Tags/Invokes to beat).

If there were some kind of shipping options that allows me to not have to pay duties and taxes here in Denmark on stuff ordered from the US I'd so go for it :)

Just gotta figure out how to restrict certain files for anonymous downloads (like your sheet). I don't think it'd be fair to have everyone register for my site just to be able to download your sheet :)  (it's setup using Tiki-Wiki CMS, and contains all my notes not just for Dresden, but also my Doctor Who campaigns)...

I'll PM ya once I get it sorted :)

Thanks a lot for the replies so far all!  These are helpful suggestions all :)  This'll be the first con game I've run outside of RPGA material, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Keep the suggestions coming though - I think what I'll end up doing is drafting the scenario/handouts, and posting a link here for suggestions/comments.

Thanks again!

I should think hosting won't be much of a problem :)  I'm sure there's a bunch of us around here who'd host it for you should the need arise :)

DFRPG / DFRPG - Convention Game
« on: July 16, 2010, 10:00:47 AM »
hey all :)

As it appears I'll be going to Conception 11 in January, I plan on running a couple of DFRPG scenarios during the course of the event. Problem is - I'm a little stuck as to how one should structure the adventures. Should I start with making the pre-gens first, some handouts with the key "features" of FATE?

Some advice from any of you con guru's would be awesome :)

Thanks in advance all!!

DFRPG / Just got the books
« on: June 30, 2010, 06:35:41 AM »
Hey all :)

I just picked up my books at a local FLGS (Fantask here in Copenhagen), and I have to say - they are absolutely gorgeous!  Warning though - if you plan on biking around with them, I hope you have something to counter balance, these things are heavy!

Great work Evil Hat!!  Definitely going to be enjoying the campaigns we have on the go even more! :)

I picked up a bunch of replica medieval coins at a local medieval market back in may - and these are what we use for our fate points...and they actually fit quite nicely in the "fate" point spot on the character sheet :)  I'll see if I can't upload a pic of them when I get home.

DFRPG / Dresdenized Calgary and Copenhagen
« on: June 16, 2010, 06:51:11 AM »
Hey all!

As we're running several different campaigns over this side of the pond (two set in Copenhagen, Denmark, and one set in Calgary, AB, Canada), I figured I'd share our "world" with you all.

You can find wiki entries here at my website: http://gaming.kalanskorner.com/tiki-index.php?page=Dresden%20Files , you shouldn't need to register to view the wiki entries or comment (at least I think I have the permissions set right)...if you have issues lemme know (I've not figured out how to allow anonymous people to view the images yet...if anyone has a clue on how to do that lemme know).

Ciao for now!

Thanks again for the input on this.  I am attempting to put this into a "module" format for Fantasy Grounds II.

Anyone out there running Dresden on FG2 yet?

Not as yet, though I'm toying with the idea, need to see how much time I end up with (and if I can find Euro time zone friendly players)...

DFRPG / First Session Write-Up - Copenhagen Chronicles
« on: May 17, 2010, 06:59:53 AM »
Hey all :)

Just thought I'd share the session write up of our first session of the DFRPG :)  It's told from the point of view of my Character (Brandon Taylor, Newly Appointed Warden for Scandinavia (and a Canadian)...)

Hope ya'll enjoy :)

Not sure if the creator of the sheet located here: http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=510090&page=4 checks this neck of the woods or not, but would it be possible to have the two "sections" of the sheet split? ie. one file for Character Creation, one file for City Creation?

Thanks in advance!

DFRPG / Fan License
« on: May 14, 2010, 09:49:42 AM »
I'm sure this has been asked somewhere before - but is there a copy of the Creative Commons Licence somewhere that we can link to/post on our websites in order to denote that anything we "publish" in regards to the RPG (such as our City writeups, characters, etc) is "legit" in some fashion? (And to keep the Sidhe lawyers at bay...) ;)
