DFRPG / How expensive it can be?
« on: October 28, 2015, 12:04:57 PM »
I try to converse character from another system in DFRPG. There's some confusion with one Power (Toughness).
How much refresh I must spend in situation, when character actually can be killed without Catch, but for this her stress-track must be completely fulfilled... during one exchange? If it won't, ALL stress-boxes will be recovered in next turn.

DFRPG / How to calculate probability?
« on: October 26, 2015, 03:20:59 PM »
Actually, the theme of the title. I need some algorithm to calculate the probability actions, for a given stats and difficulty... in percents. Considering the stunts and powers, of course. If there is something like that - I would very appreciate a link, if there isn't... so, I'll have to remember the math

UPD: The problem of Jason is solved. He was sold as a slave to the LANGOLIER-like demon, as compensation for damaged property) So, now he will not work with other party but our GM told me, that it can be small spin-off solo for him.

I'll try Personally, I wasn't good player (but wasn't totally bad, too). Jason was smt like male-werewolf-version of Cordelia. But there was at least 3 EXTREMELY GOOD PLAYERS in our gung.

Huh... Jason is done. Technically, his alive, but I don't want to play anymore.  I really hoped that I'll can to "just play", but I can't accept that werewolves are untermensches in Buffy-verse. But anyway I'll try to write the report abut game))

DFRPG / New World of Darkness-werewolves as a part of Dresden-verse
« on: March 20, 2015, 06:42:20 PM »
As some RPG-fans can know, Werewolf the Forsaken 2.0 was finally published. Despite of bad text-editing, the game looks quite good. During the reading I found that I'd liked to see them as part of Dresden-verse. Could they be the part of Unseelie Accords? They are pretty bad-ass now (I can't actually make statting, cuz their abilities can be very different, but one regular werewolf = 5-6 RCV in brawl) though quite anarchistic and unorganized.  What do you think?

That sounds pretty cool, and RPGs are totally the right forum for that.  If your group wants to play a Buffy game, using Dresden rules but not set in a Dresden-verse, this is a pretty good system.  There's a pretty good writeup for Buffyverse vampires here http://dfrpg-resources.wikispaces.com/Hellmouth+Vampire  (as well as others on the forum here).  The Buffyverse vampires actually operate more like Ghouls from Dresden (Ghouls even have "game faces").
Thank you. :)

That's how we actually "activated" Kamila. After what happened in S5.  ;)

In Dresden continuity, it might make sense for the Watcher Council to be part of the Venatori_Umbrorum   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dresden_Files_groups#Venatori_Umbrorum.
May be.
Hell during our game I got that I really want remake of BVS. Wait... I'm not heretic, don't burn me! I mean, I want remake-NewGeneration. With new characters in the same world. As I know, original story-line continue in comics, but comic's timeline still in middle 2000s.

Who knows? To be honest, we just didn't think about her. :(
P.S. That's how I see (more or less) Jason's wolf-form:

Actually, we play in 2002. In our headcanon, Kamila open her powers after Buffy's death in S5. So, Kendall around 30+, Larry about 20+, and the others are younger.
Mori can be from Winter Court, or from wildfolk. Her powers not connected with dreams and visions so much. It's more narrative details. Jason... his curse can be unique so he doesn't have to be DF-werewolf. The curse actually could be "standard" Loup-Garou curse but but the cursing one made some mistake.

Thank you. Yep, Mori more like Changeling (or even WC-fairy) but in Buffy-verse it's not big difference. She actually have three stages: Girl, Woman and Corne, but now she is exactly girl. Also, I think, Wings must be more expensive, cuz she is not just appear as a flock of ravens, but REALLY turn in the flock with (her) hivemind. Btw very useful trick - especially if you need to watch smt in different places in the same time.
