When I think of Mab, she sounds like Shara Worden. Here's a sound clip from YouTube.

The song is "The Queen's Rebuke/The Crossing" by the Decemberists. Shara sings the part of an evil faerie queen. :)

I wanted to take more pictures, but I kept getting blocked by tall people. Grrrrr.... ;)

You know I had a feeling that was you at the signing. The UT shirt and the UT earrings were what tipped me off.

I think you and I are the only two people who asked more than one question. heh

What can I say? The brainwashing has worked well. :D

I felt kind of bad asking another question but no one else was saying anything at that point so I went for it.

I love the store and glad they got the business but it was even ill suited (parking, sitting, hearing, purchasing, etc.) in 2008 with half the people.  However, I don't think there are any better stores.  For Charlaine Harris MBTB arranged for the event at the downtown Public Library which has a large hall and parking.

Agreed. Also, with all the people, I didn't get to browse for other books like I wanted. Sad panda.

Here's my pic with Jim. It's from my facebook as well, but you should be able to see it. :) I look like a creeper in it though. ><

Worth the three hour, scary ass drive on 290 back. Lol.

Leaving in a few hours....EEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Decorum: Don't ask questions with spoilers for Changes, since most of the crowd won't have read it? :)

I don't know about ya'll, but I know what I will be doing in between lunch and the start of the event....reading! :D lol.

You're coming from Austin? So am I. Awesome.

1. Take 290. I've looked up the map and it's essentially a straight shot from here to Houston on 290.
2. Murder By the Book requires you to buy at least one new book to get something signed. It says if you buy a new book, you can bring something old to sign. Truthfully, I'm not goign to bother-I'm just going to get my copies of Changes signed.
3. It doesn't exactly give a limit on how many books you can get signed in person. However, 1-3 is usually a good number. Especially as there will be lots of peoples there.

Also-to make absolutely sure. BBQ place by MBTB at 2ish tomorrow?

9
Mark one-maybe. I don't get out of class until 11ish. From there it's a three hour drive, then finding the place.

10
So to get things straight...the plan is to meet for linner at 2ish at Star Pizza?

11
We could coordinate a lunch and a dinner. For example, I have class in the morning so I won't be headed out until lunch time, and then it's a three hour drive.

12
I am going to see if I can make this happen....anyone from Austin going? Who all plans to be there?

I'm from Austin and I will be going. I've looked on GoogleMaps and it looks like a straight shot from here to thar on 290.

Also, SlimMason, that's only an hour away, from Huntsville to Houston. You should totally do it.

13
This is worth skipping class, driving three hours, and another three back. Lol. Anyone think about maybe doing dinner before hand?

Thanks Sameth. And now, without further ado, a butt load of pictures.

Jim and I.

my brother David, my mom Laura and Jim. According to Dave, Jim looks like Geddy Lee from Rush.

Down the length of the table at dinner. I just want to warn you all that they're all blurry because I wasn't using my flash because I didn't want to intrude or make anyone awkward.

Okay, so this is on the way home from the con but the story is just so awesome I've got to share. In Italy, Texas there's this geodosic dome community (the catepillar) with the "starship pegasus" off to the side. I wanted to take pictures so we pulled over. Mom, Dave and I all got out. Well, it went from taking pictures to "hey david why don't you climb up it?" That was my mom's idea, btw. So he did! This pic is me and mom running around and taking pictures before we all get in trouble. When it came time to get down, my mom suggested jumping off the top of the doorway cause it looked like it was only 6 feet. Well, it was more than that and my brother's ankle is still sore-he strained it. Personally, I would have slid down the side but we live and learn. So awesome though.

Hey, dunce alert. I can't figure out how to post multiple pix on here without linking them to a site. Halp! I want to put up blurry dinner photos and my brother climbing up a geodosic dome!
